I got the worst customer service here today around 12:45pm 25 April 2025. The Nepalese girl at counter was extremely rude to me. She was friendly with two other male customers prior to me. I went there to purchase sweets for someone else and rang the person to ask what she wanted. I asked the girl behind the counter a simple question āif they had PLAIN barfiā. She was showing me almond barfi and then proceeded to say they had milk barfi. I asked her if the almond barfi had almond taste or was it just the almond on top? She turned around and said to me with aggression and loud tone ājust listen to meāā¦.i was shocked at what she said to. My god I was the customer wanting to make a purchase and I know what I want yet she told me to listen to her. I told her that she needs to listen to me as I know what I wanted. She continued to talk over me and was slamming the sweets in the packaging. After I paid I told her, her customer service was appalling and she accused me raising my voice at her when in fact she was the one that raised her voice at me. I came all the way from Donnybrook when I could have gone else while was saying this to her she continued to tell me I was talking over her. I rang the St Albans shop to complain and have left a message to put a formal complaint with the owner I was told the owner was going to call back. I doubt it I will get a call back. I will not go back there, just need to find another Indian sweet shop in the area. She must have been having a bad day but there is no excuse to talk to anyone like that. Like an idiot I still purchased $49 sweets. Hope the girl can lift up her game. Your rude customer service has lost...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe sweets here are absolutely deliciousāno doubt about that. However, the customer service at the Coburg branch was extremely disappointing and honestly quite upsetting. While I was in the shop, I noticed the staff warmly engaging with another customer in their native language, laughing and providing full attention. I respect that, but when it was my turn, the attitude changed completely. There was no greeting, no smileājust a blunt āWhat do you want?ā which felt very disrespectful. I politely asked in Urdu for 500 grams of Kaju Katli. The staff member packed it silently without interaction. I then asked if she could recommend any other sweets, and she ignored me, continuing to chat with her colleague. When I asked if she spoke Urdu or where she was from to make communication easier, she snapped, āIām from Australia, speak to me in English if you want anything.ā That response was rude, dismissive, and frankly, traumatic. As a regular customer, I felt extremely disrespected. It came across as racially biased and unprofessional. Itās a stark contrast to the St Albans branch, where the staff are welcoming, respectful, and provide excellent service. You seriously need to reconsider your staffing at Coburg. Either train your staff properly in basic customer service, or hire people who know how to treat customers with respect. A simple smile, a polite greeting, and fair treatmentāregardless of language or backgroundāgo a long way. This experience was embarrassing and disappointing. I will not be returning to...
