The Bungalow Beer Garden — Restaurant in Melbourne

I attended Bungalow Beer garden on Friday 24th of February along with Michelle (see her review below, and the owners response).

I actually enjoyed my Parma and the fried prawns, and my beer service was also good.

However, it is true that Michelle's cocktail took 45 minutes to arrive. I checked the time of the transaction on my account and when the cocktail arrived... 45 minutes. The owner has responded saying that Michelle was "abusive" to staff and exaggerating the waiting time for the cocktail.

I can only presume that the owner is thinking of someone else, as we absolutely did not complain while we were there and definitely didn't abuse anyone, we just accepted that the cocktail took 45 minutes.

I hope the owner is mistaken rather than deliberately lying to bring the merit of the review into question?

Also we absolutely did not receive a refund, not sure where this is all coming from.

Unfortunately the owners response is extremely unprofessional.

Needless to say the owner should get their facts straight before responding to a review in such a way, as they have earned another 1 star review, where I would have moved on with my life if it weren't for their unnecessary response.

Also I feel for the staff during happy hour and I can understand it can be hard to process so many cocktails being ordered all at once, however it doesn't reflect well that apparently there were enough complaints that the owner can't even get their story straight regarding which complaint is which.

Overall I like the idea of the restaurant and the food/drink. Just need more workers behind the bar making cocktails because 45 minutes was too long, hopefully they can improve...

We had a really poor experience today. Paige was the only waitress who was friendly and polite. The one with the long hair, pink eyeshadow, was seen smoking with the patrons on the balcony after people had waited 20+ minutes for drinks. It took 20 minutes to have our order taken, even then, it didn't go through properly. There was one guy behind the counter trying to serve us all, one girl when we first got there but I don't think she knew how to use the till. Food was decent so thankfully that was not stuffed around. The service was slow, the drinks average. Then, after taking so long to serve us, with only maybe 6 bookings in the place, they were very quick to make sure we cleared out from our table by 1pm. Really disappointing, needed more staff. Given it was a pre set menu of drinks and food (which should have been advertised with the 'bottomless brunch' because we wouldn't have booked for that limited range of cocktails) it was a real let down. Live in Ringwood and will not be back unless some serious...

It would be nice to have been told in the booking email or on the website that all dinner patrons have to be over 18. We had booked a group dinner with 1 who was 16, to attend the venue with us. We turned away and had dinner elsewhere after being told the 16 year old had to have a parent or guardian have dinner with them. Seems pretty ridiculous when I'm 23 myself and was not drinking and we had a dinner booking. We had also been told by security that they didn't think dinner was still running when clearly I had a dinner booking. Maybe make it clear next time for customers who have never visited or booked about whos allowed to attend or what the rules are around booking....
