The Gatehouse at Rupertswood — Restaurant in Melbourne

Disappointed, cold bacon was served with the Canadian waffles, had to take back to kitchen to reheat. Fried Eggs on toast was not made to order, was placed on two extremely small pieces of very hard toast. Cheese, tomato abd mushroom toastie was barely toasted. The group I took there were polite seniors and didn't want to complain to staff!!! The person who took our order and the waitress were very helpful and good at their jobs, but I can't say the same for the two chefs in the kitchen!!! The chefs need a lot more training. The eggs anyway meal needs to be upgraded, and placed on some good bigger pieces of toasted bread. Will not be recommending to others, neither will we support the Gatehouse in the future. I drive past this place nearly every day as I am a Sunbury local. I've always promised myself that I will go in one day. The Gatehouse at Rupertswood took part in an Easter event on the weekend so I popped in. I didn't eat as I was just there for the event for my kids, so I will only be reviewing their service. It was exceptional. We went to the counter and was greeted by the most friendly lady of Asian origin (so sorry I didn't catch her name and it was the only way I could think of to describe her), who not only made me a terrific coffee, but she was so welcoming and awesome to talk to - she was so happy and great to the kids. Bit disappointing. Breakfast panacotta was mainly water and gelatine and wasn't mixed properly. Tasted like it had been in fridge with savoury food. What was meant to be Granola was uncooked starchy muesli. Canadian waffles had hollandaise with maple syrup which does not go well together, especially not with egg.
