My partner and I recently dined at The Pint of Milk for the first time, after receiving a recommendation from a friend. Right from the start, we were impressed with the warm and welcoming atmosphere that enveloped us as we entered the restaurant. We chose a cozy spot by the window, although we did find that the glued-down seats could have been more comfortable if they were movable and swiveled.
Despite this minor inconvenience, our taste buds were in for a treat. We started off with an iced matcha latte, which, regrettably, was the least favorite dish of our visit. The flavor seemed somewhat watered down, but the presentation was undoubtedly top-notch, setting the stage for the rest of the meal.
The highlight of our dining experience was the hash brown smoked salmon. Served in a gorgeous ceramic bowl that left us curious about its origins, the dish featured a delightfully crispy hash brown and tender, flavorful salmon that easily flaked apart with a fork.
We also tried the toasted pides with homemade falafel, roasted peppers, hummus, and rocket. My partner thoroughly enjoyed this dish, while I was particularly impressed with the freshness and texture of the bread.
In summary, our visit to The Pint of Milk was a fantastic experience. We will definitely return, especially for the scrumptious hash brown smoked salmon. We wholeheartedly recommend giving this cozy restaurant a try and sampling this standout dish...
Read moreI was excited to come to this place after going past many times but the reality was very disappointing. I won't go back. Can't recommend this place if anyone in your group has dietary preferences or allergies.
When I got there I noticed the waiter seemed to be in a bad mood, not bothering with any niceties. Even bumped me on the back of the head at one point while I was seated at the communal table.
What I didnt' expect was that my order would go so badly. Anyway I ordered GF toast with eggs and the waiter confirmed it.
Now, part of the problem is gluten free bread has come so far these days! If they bring you some bread that doesn't taste like cardboard you just assume they have a great supplier! Teh waiter banged my plate down and stamped off. I started eating. But what was brought, well after I'd eaten about half the slice I realised it couldn't be gluten free.
They apologised and took it off the bill, which was the right thing to do. I'm only fodmap free not gluten free so for me the problem is probably just a day or two of fatigue and digstive upset not a big autoimmune problem. But for other people it could cause real health problems.
There's got to be some leeway for cafes to make mistakes with orders but when it comes to gluten free items and allergies I think that leeway is very small.
Upsides: decor is nice, coffee was decent, eggs were actually cooked...
Read moreThe Pint Of Milk is one of the best place I have ever went to, and that's said by a someone who doesn't drink milk, but black coffee.😅
I came here for a quick lunch that turned into one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I had in Melbourne😍. The manager and the staff were absolutely fantastic, warm, friendly and attentive. 👌
I ordered their Super Bowl from the chefs special and I couldn't have done a better choice. The food was just screaming freshness, quality and yumminess❤.
Not only the service is top notch and the food is flavoursome but the whole venue projects such a lively, lovely and warm feeling that makes it hard to leave. 😣
If you are on this side is the bridge this joint is a must try! It's only 15min away from the city, and there is plenty of parking😄.
