Food is generally really nice and we're easy to please BUT Pork with ginger had 4 very small pieces of pork in the entire dish of mostly vegetables. A fellow diner noted it first saying ‘ gee a bit lacking on the meat there’ As the friendly customers we always are, we just thought it was an oversight. Every other place usually focuses on client satisfaction objectively.
So the lovely waitress asked the chef for us who delivered the message through her that it is supposed to be nine pieces but the chef sends it back with nothing added ( obviously a passive suggestion we’d eaten some - but the waitress knew we hadn’t even started) I'd never heard of needing to count out 9 bits in a stir fry ( do they use a ruler as well? ) I note another person’s review saying there was barely any duck in theirs either. Listen to what your customers are telling you.
So this time the chef received it back again politely but permanently. The 'boss' looked completely disinterested in anything going on around him while chatting on his phone away from the main desk. So we’re not surprised at the service.
More customers need to speak up when meat portions are that minimal. I'm disappointed in a restaurant I had always liked until now. Not for that issue alone, but the disappointing way a simple quality comment has been handled by management. Some of us are actually trying to make it better for YOU by being honest.
I felt sorry for the hard working waitress who was really kind and helpful. Treating the issue as though we’d eaten half is not even worth commenting on. It speaks volumes why I had to write this and the way they had...
Read moreWent here with a group of 6 people. First of all, the restaurant is really cozy and has an appealing atmosphere (not too rustic, but also not too posh). The menu has many options. We shared some mains and dessert and had fish cakes for starters, which were nice. For mains we shared a couple of dishes. The ones that stood out were the Red Curry (+ Chicken) and definetely the Pad See Ew (+ Beef). I can only recommend those 2. The curry had a nice spiciness and the other was very flavourful. Other dishes like Pad Thai and Fried Rice were really good, too. The Papaya Salad was okay (lacked a little flavour and acidity). Only the duck dish was disappointing; Lacked flavour, sauce seemed uninspired, and definetely lacking duck. Unfortunately, some of us did not even get to try a piece. But honestly, they did not miss out on much. I would definetely have a look at that one again because it was so different quality-wise from the other dishes (at least yesterday night) I didn't have dessert, but the others had Banana Roti ( everybody loved), Fried Ice Cream (close 2nd) and Black Sticky Rice (good, but apparently slightly too salty). Overall great experience; Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, and amazing food (other than the duck ;) ) Would definetely come back to try other dishes as well! Great job, thanks for...
Read moreSadly can only leave 1 star. Ordered and informed about a 45 minute wait. No problems. Get there on time and told another ten minutes. 25 minutes later no sign of food and maybe still being cooked. Gave up and when asked for a refund the manager got grumpy at me as if the wait for over an hour ten was my fault. I understand ‘staff shortages’ but this is ridiculous and to have the refund half thrown back at me is childish at best. If you’re hungry - maybe be prepared to wait a long time or simply order elsewhere. Edit: I was not disrespectful to any staff in fact after sitting and waiting for an extra 23 minutes and only then asking one staff member politely about my order the only person I spoke to was the owner so comments below re being abusive are a blatant lie. But thankyou for confirming that even though we had ordered and you told us 45 minutes, and then another 10 minutes and then 25 minutes later the food still wasn’t ready - confirmation that priority was being given to ‘walk in’s’ and counter orders is good feedback for others to...
