The Junction Hotel offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, with an exceptionally friendly and attentive staff that enhances the overall experience. With a great selection of drinks and a satisfying menu, it is a delightful place to unwind and enjoy a casual evening. From the moment I stepped into the Junction Hotel, I was struck by the comfortable and inviting ambiance. The decor is tasteful, combining contemporary elements with rustic charm. The lighting is just right, creating a cozy and relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for both intimate gatherings and social outings. One of the standout aspects of the Junction Hotel is the genuinely friendly staff. The team members go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. Their genuine enthusiasm and eagerness to assist make the dining experience truly enjoyable. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to offer recommendations based on personal preferences. When it comes to drinks, the Junction Hotel does not disappoint. The bar offers an impressive selection of both classic and innovative cocktails, along with a variety of beers and wines. The bartenders are skilled and passionate about their craft, ensuring that each drink is expertly crafted and presented. Moving on to the food, while the overall quality is commendable, the chicken Parma falls slightly short of the high standard set by the other dishes. The flavors are pleasant, but the dish lacks that extra touch of excellence that would make it truly exceptional. That said, the menu offers a range of other delicious options. Whether you're seeking a vibrant night out with friends or a relaxed evening with a loved one, the Junction Hotel is a solid choice.

I'm reviewing the wine room, not the beer hall, where do I start, the waiter was arrogant and rude, attempting to be humourous but wasn't. Sat us at our table and didn't offer a drinks menu or even ask if we would like something. He left to not return until prompted some time after, it wasn't busy so there was no excuse, he took that long to return meals had been decided on and ordered with drinks. He then proceeded to tell us the specials and what wasn't available after we had spent our time reviewing the menu. A beer ordered was later revealed as unavailable, when the replacement option arrived I mentioned to my friend that I tried that particular beer that afternoon, only to be interupted by the waiter to say to me" good chat" I was a little shocked. I would have liked to have bitten back with a sarcastic comment but felt it wasn't the setting. After a few more poor jokes he left. Once our meals arrived we were missing sauce and the side ordered, the sauce arrived when there was one bite of meat left with no comment or appologies, the waiter was informed of the missing side, instead of talking to us he checked the order on the screen and laughed at his own incompetence, in our full view, when he returned to the table I suggested there was no point bringing it out at that point as we were nearly finished, he again laughed and said" I wasn't going to" unfortunately the shame is the food we did get was great, sides would have been nice, none the less. I think this could be a great venue with better staff, messing up an order on a table of 4 is not humourous, it's embarrassing. The two waiters seem to feel it was social time, constantly laughing with each other at the bar, rather than waiting on customers. We had to get there attention every time rather than being waited on🤨, the young lady cheered the service department with suggestions and knowledge and a sense of humour that we engaged in. The hospitality industry is competitive and a restaurant can't afford to have incompetent, rude staff, I believe other patrons felt the same as we noted awkward looks and eye rolls, luckily the company was great and we could laugh at his mistakes rather than loose our temper, I know we aren't the first complaints regarding said waiter, one person at our table had been before and had issues with the same waiter, he gave us a heads up when we were seated by him, his cockyness and arrogance shining as he walked us to our table. All could have been dealt with if the service was outstanding and our food not arriving is certainly not a laughing matter??

Dropping my rating significantly. Had our reception here 12 months ago, so decided to return for our first anniversary dinner. Was promised that a table was booked for us (it was not). Were seated in possibly the noisest part of the pub, facing the most romantic view ever (Newport train station). Now to the food: the Saganaki was okay, but to be fair, it's fried cheese: pretty hard to stuff that up. Onto the main: my 'potato salad' consisted of potatoes with sour cream. That's not a bloody salad. The medium rare steak was closer to well done. My wife ordered the chicken, but with a side of potatoes as there was no potatoes mentioned in the menu description. What she instead got was some barely cooked chicken, roast potatoes and a side of chips??? The description didn't even mention chips, and even the waitress ran to double check the menu. The best part of this? The waitress offered us a free cocktail as if that would alleviate the bad experience we had this evening. Long story short: seriously reconsider special occasions here: you're bound to wind up disappointed

We went here for our niece's 30th birthday on Friday night, about 20 of us so we were seated outside under cover, would be nice on a warm day but it was cold. Parking is limited and its situated on a one way street, proving parking to be challenging. The pub as a great pub feel about it, the menu is small, 5 mains to choose from, typical pub grub, with parmas, steak, pie but we didn't fancy any of that so we chose 4 starters to share, sour dough bread 4 slices with goats cheese, olives, lamb skewer 1 per serve and a bowl of chips, between 2 of us we had 5 drinks, 3 wines & 2 beers, this was over $100, we thought it was pricey for what you got but lets face it, the prices of everything are increasing. Food was ok, but nothing outstanding that would make us want to go back.

Great location, family vibe in the main bar area and has a lovely outdoor section with access to a private function room. We booked the wine room for dinner on a Saturday night. Dark decor made it impossible to read the menu, needed our phones for light. Extensive drinks menu, pub dining menu with a few of the favourites. We had the roast special and lobster risotto. Good flavours, nothing over the top. Staff were friendly and attentive, even when it got busy. Became very noisy as tables filled up. Recommend sound baffle and some lighting to read a menu.
