Basil and Co — Restaurant in Melbourne

Microwave pizza and canned pasta would’ve been better than the food we received here. We ordered the Focaccia Di Patate E Rosmarino which was not a focaccia and was also flavourless. The Spaghetti Con Polpette tasted like it came from a can and the meatballs had a weird sponge texture. The Salsiccia pizza was so greasy it soaked through the cardboard and got all over the table. It also had absolutely no flavour, which was a common theme for the entire meal. We also were told our order would take 45 minutes, which while was a long wait we did understand as it was a Friday after the holiday period. However, when we arrived about an hour after they said the pasta would be another 15 minutes. Only after we decided to cancel on the pasta were they suddenly able to get it out in 5 minutes. Fantastic margherita pizza and a good price at $29 for two large traditional pizzas and a garlic bread for takeaway. But some issues with the service.

Ordered on the phone on Friday at 6pm (admittedly a very busy time) and told it would be an hour. The website menu says $25 so they need to update that. I arrived and was told to wait another 10 minutes, then longer, then I finally got it 80 minutes after I ordered. To be fair, they offered me a free drink while I waited. Then when I got it they forgot to charge me for the food, so I went back and paid. They were really nice staff, lovely, but some issues with the order on a busy Friday night.
