We visited on a Sunday morning between 9 and 10am. The interior of the cafe is chic modernistic with warm mood lighting, pot plants to add greenery and lovely low hanging light fixtures. We were attended to immediately. We ordered a banana milkshake and matcha latte, and both were served in an appropriate time. Both were delicious. Food wise, we had a lovely, delicious breakfast. Food service was very fast. I ordered the green eggs and ham and hubby ordered the big breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon (without mushrooms). Hubby had nothing but positives to say about his meal, his eggs scrambled beautifully, fluffy bread, crisp bacon (and lots of it) and we'll cooked vegetable sides. My green eggs and ham was delicious and I would highly recommend for anyone who likes peas. It was basically an omelette with big juicy pieces of ham hock and mushy pea puree dabbed throughout the fluffy eggs. The pea shoots added much needed leafy greens to the dish to add freshness, the crispy prosciutto was YUM and super crisp, and the pesto well balanced. I chose not to get this dish with toast and I am glad as it is filling whilst being light. We polished off our meals. We then got desserts which consisted of a Ferrero rocher cheesecake and a chia jam donut. Hubby was pleasantly surprised by the donut, which he didn't think was going to be good because it looked "healthy" but it actually was very light and delicious, and the fresh berries for the jam gave the donut a beautifully fresh acidity and lightness. The cheesecake was yummy also, but unbelievably rich for a wheat free/dairy free dessert. It was a struggle to finish it despite being yummy because of the richness, so maybe they could tone the dates down a little! Also, the hokey pokey milkshake just tasted like Vanilla, but these two points would be my only constructive feedback on an otherwise beautiful food experience. It's also worth noting that the staff here are very pleasant and switched on and we'll presented and the place was buzzing, especially after 10am so maybe come early to...
Read moreVery disappointed with the service.came here for the first time on 29/4,we ordered “Pork Benny “and “Breakfast plate”. The latte and pork Benny was nice .But I found the halloumi cheese was ridiculously salty.I was very hungry, tried to eat more bread and drink more water to try again, still felt like I was eating plain rock salt.I gave some to my husband to try,he spat it out straight away. I kept trying to eat it but it was so salty that my tongue started to hurt.the colour of the halloumi cheese also looked like burnt. Honestly,I couldn’t enjoy my meal, when I went to pay i told the cashier(the Asian girl with 2 low pigtails )the cheese was way too salty, she apologised.I told her I just wanted to let the chef know so the other customers didn’t have to experience what I did.The cashier told another short girl (blonde short hair)who just came next to her, that girl said “it’s halloumi cheese!that’s how it’s supposed to be!”rolled her eyes then just walked off.She told the cashier right in front of me without any eye contact with me,or speaking to me,made me feel I was invisible and a nonsense. I know halloumi cheese is supposed to be salty,I have eaten halloumi cheese at least 100 times in my life including homemade,at different restaurants and in different countries. And this is the first time I made this complaint because it felt like eating plain salt. I was shocked with her rude attitude. Overall,we were happy with the coffee and other food.the Asian cashier was polite and nice.Very disappointed with the cheese,my lips, and tongue still feeling sore when I got home after drinking lots of fluids a few hours later.Paid full price although half of the cheese was still left on the plate because no way anyone could swallow that.Extremely dissatisfied and disgusted with the rude customer service from that short girl,i would give 0 star if I could.and I won’t be going back again because I will never want to be served by someone who doesn’t care about the...
Read moreI went there after looking at some amazing photos of things like their eggs benedicts on the internet, which look really good. So anyway I ordered a latte and when it came I was pretty disappointed because it was very milky and it didn't really have much of a crema or froth to speak of. I didn't quite finish that - left about 1/4 of it. When the girl cleared it away she didn't say anything.... I ordered the Benny and it came in something that looks like a cross between a bowl and a dinner plate that sits up on an angle - it was very strange. The eggs were done beautifully. I was expecting the hollondaise to be delicious, but it wasn't really anything to write home about. There was bacon, and there was some kind of....like a hash brown on the bottom, but it was a bit weird because it was sort of a cross between a hash brown and pork crackling - but not in a good way. It was like a brick, very crunchy, hard to bite into. Never had anything like it before. Quite strange. In the end I had a whole lot of yolk left over that I needed to mop up so I ordered half a slice bread, just naturally of course thinking that it would be sourdough - and the lady very nicely brought me a slice of bread, promptly, but it was your old tip top white bread straight from the 1980s. I was a bit surprised by that. This place is a 40-something man's dream. It seemed to be chock full of nice looking, friendly looking 40-something single women (no idea of course if they are actually single or not, but they're on their own anyway). The staff were all very nice. Terrible coffee though, as I mentioned. And there's no place in any cafe these days for soft, square Tip-top...
