We went here last night for our friends belated birthday dinner as we couldn't go the other week due to lockdown 5.0. We read alot of the reviews and were a bit hesitant but the atmosphere, layout and general vibe of the place was fantastic. I have never had Sri Lankan food before but our friend who comes here every Sunday for the buffet said its amazing and she is Sri Lankan. My wife and I ordered from the western menu as we can't handle too much spicy food. Our friends ordered from the main menu. There food was amazing and my wife had some too and she wishes she ordered it now. Great to see everyone out again and enjoying themselves. The place was pretty packed. The only thing that let it down was the service and western menu. It felt like they needed more staff on as it was a very busy night for them and more training on menu items when people are taking your order. When I ask what size is the steak, she said its big enough for one person. The western menu, half the stuff on it was unavailable. Which is what we ordered initially. We ended up having the battered fish and chips and calamari which was really good but it was disappointing we didn't get what we initially ordered. It took them 20-30mins to tell us after we ordered to come back to the table and say we had to order something else. The big guy walking around who I suppose was the manager wasn't polite at all when we asked for a container to take home leftovers and had his mask halfway down his face. Overall good experience though. Don't listen to all the reviews on google. I get people have bad experiences from restaurants but sometimes it takes a visit to these places to experience it for yourself and make up your own mind as it might be...

Even though our party was a short-notice event, Nash was able to accommodate our party needs, explaining everything thoroughly and presenting all the options clearly. We in and out in a matter of minutes with a party scheduled in.
On the day, we were very well looked after by Suranga and the team at Walawwa, who catered brilliantly to our guests throughout the duration of the event. The venue was well presented, the restroom facilities were very clean, there was ample parking for our guests and the climate was very comfortable.
The food was prepared and presented very well. Our guests ate plenty from the buffet and were satisfied with the food quality and amount available to eat. The staff at Walawwa went above and beyond, when we requested that another dessert option be added at the request of some of our guests. They promptly acted and had the request fulfilled in a matter of no time.
Credit goes to the chef, Suranga, Nash and the rest of the staff at Walawwa for the amazing experience provided from start to finish. The price of our event was very reasonable, with many of our guests surprised at how little price we paid. I highly recommend their venue for any event...
Read moreAs stage 4 restrictions have placed maximum capacity in restaurants and take away shops - the restaurant has a maximum of 2 people inside. Upon arrival there were already 2 customers inside along with myself and another customer at the side entrance waiting. (there was no one at the front entrance.) When it came to my turn, i went inside and was told they were going to serve another gentlemen who came WELL after me! I agreed and again went outside and waited. (i had already waited 20mins). While the other customer was getting served another customer from the front entrance entered. I came in and advised the waitress that I came before the other customer and she then asked what my order was. My complaint is not the fact that I had to wait, but that fact that there was no apology for serving 2 customers before me and that there is no proper structure to which customer waiting outside - gets served first. If you have two entrances to the restaurant it should be managed well so each customer is treated fairly. When speaking with other people about the incident today, I was advised they also shared the same experience as me. I have no complaints about the food. Just the poor customer...
