Who is Bunker Spreckels — Restaurant in Melbourne

This morning me and my daughter came here for breakfast, as we had been here before and quite enjoyed it. My daughter had ordered the kids pancakes. Around the half an hour mark of waiting, we started to realise the food was taking a while. But we kept that off our minds for another 20 minutes. By the time it hit the hour mark, my daughter asked the staff if our order had gotten through. It turned out they hadn’t even started making it! I told them I was going to cancel it, but they just looked at me blankly and walked off. It wasn’t until ten minutes later my daughter’s pancakes had arrived. The food looked like it had just been thrown on the plate recklessly. 13 year old children can get quite on your nerves when they are hungry, which also dampened the mood. My own food had come even later, which I personally was not the most pleased about. To add insult to injury, the food altogether was extremely expensive, the total half a hundred dollars from just kids pancakes, a bowl of chicken and rice, and a coffee.

I do not recommend unless you have plenty of time on your hands and don’t mind...

Have always loved bunker spreckles but today and the last few times the service has been ridiculous. Today I sat down, with nearly 10 minutes before being acknowledged, even then they dropped some menus in front of me without taking an order. I finally got to order coffee but no food I finally went inside and ordered I’ve been in the hospitality for 15 years and understand sometimes you’re under the pump but 3 staff members to 10 customers is a breeze and they still seemed to struggle Saw someone wait 15 min for a take away coffee Poached eggs cooked in so much vinegar almost inedible Can’t even complain as staff too busy chatting amongst themselves Went to have a glass of water and cup was filthy Normally I would never complain but if your staff aren’t competent and you’re charging a 15% public holiday surcharge you should probably make sure they know how to provide service

Hopefully the owners take the time to train...

Great food however the experience was ruined by the Italian girl, we have been here a few times and we assumed her rude service or lack of was due to a bad day however this is not the case. Today again She ignored us, yelled constantly around the restaurant and was very rude to other customers. She sat us on a dirty table after 10 mins of waiting and yelled at us for seating ourselves before this then when it got freezing said we weren’t allowed to move inside because of hygeine Even though we sat on a dirty table with dirty glasses and napkins on it for 20 mins before we even got a menu. Rest of the staff were nice especially the asian man however she ruined the experiences.
