Honest Review: Taco Bell Midland
We don’t do fast food often, but we were driving through and decided to try our first Taco Bell in Australia. Having had it before in 2 other countries, we came in with some expectations—and overall, it was mostly a nice experience.
Food: We ordered a Chicken Crunchwrap and Beef Double Crunchwrap meals, churros, and cinnamon twists. The Crunchwraps were fresh, filling, and flavorful, surprising even for some of our friends who were trying Taco Bell for the first time. Solid 8/10, though there were a couple of minor issues: missing sauce packets and black specks likely from the grill, suggesting the grill could use more thorough cleaning.
The churros were tasty but cold 4/10. The cinnamon twists, on the other hand, were the standout of the meal—crispy, light, and and sweet 10/10.
Service: The service was on par with what you’d expect from a fast-food restaurant. The girl at the counter was soft-spoken but sweet, eager to take our order, and confirmed everything carefully. The only hiccup was that all orders seemed to default to takeaway, even for dine-in customers like us. Later when we asked for sauce packets, we were directed to awkwardly grab them from holders behind the counter, which could definitely be improved.
Atmosphere: We visited on a Friday evening at 6 PM, and it was surprisingly quiet. We were the only diners for most of our visit, with just a few cars coming through the drive-thru and Uber drivers picking up orders. The dining area was clean, and the familiar Taco Bell branding was present throughout.
Speed: Our order was ready in just a few minutes.
Overall Impression: If you’re craving American Tex-Mex and want something quick, Taco Bell Midland is worth a try. The filling Crunchwraps and cinnamon twists stood out as the highlights of our meal, and the team’s effort to provide good service was clear. Request sauce. As everything is super bland without. It’s what makes it all work.
Suggestions: • Celebrate your wins! Most of the food was fresh, and the staff was eager to do a good job. • Improve access to sauce packets for dine-in customers. • Focus on consistent quality control or training to keep up with expectations (e.g., grill cleanliness, serving desserts fresh, asking ‘dine-in or take away’, automatically giving sauce packets).
All in all, a pleasant first experience with Taco Bell in Australia. Just a few tweaks could make it...
Read moreWe visited Taco Bell in midland recently. There was a queue outside but not as big as the queues were previously. I was not well and said I’d wait in the car and my boyfriend waited in the queue outside. He waited 45 minutes until he got inside and ordered. His order took a further 50 minutes to be prepared and given to him. So I thought it t was taking ages because of the crowd but no. He counted 13 kitchen staff but there was only one person taking peoples orders. To make matters worse a very selfish entitled person walked in straight past the people who had been waiting for ages and went straight to the counter expecting to be served. The server did not ask them to take their place in the queue like everyone else but proceeded to just stand there and let this person order and the person was messing around and taking ages to say what he wanted. So that added to the waiting. I placed a complaint to them and they called back a couple of days later and said that they always have four kitchen staff and three front counter staff and that each order takes approximately five minutes to prepare and be served. I called her out on this and asked why there were thirteen kitchen staff and only one and the front counter and she said that midland store made $100,000 profit in the previous week so didn’t really answer my question. She said we could have a free meal but that seems nothing. No...
Read moreService is friendly. The flow is a touch clunky due to it being a new format for Australia. Chips could be crispier. Sauces are all delicious. Jalapeno is probably the best. The mild literally makes all the food taste better. Fire is nice because nothing on the menu is particularly spicy. The Grilled Stuft Burrito and the Loaded fries probably two best things on the menu. Quesadillas are pretty good too. Crunch wrap gives me PTSD from Old El Paso, something about the cheap crunchy corn tortillas lettuce and tomato makes me shudder. The meat is ranked best to worst in this order COMFORTABLY no argument: Chicken Pork Beef Steak
The steak is horrendous heat treated rubbish and they charge you extra $1 for it. Chicken, beef and pork all taste reasonably normal but the steak is a mistep. Avoid at all costs. Pork Quesadilla with Fire sauce and guac will definitely be prescribed for many a future hangovers. It's not fancy guys. It's Mexican style fast food. It's solid quality food when you don't want pizza, fried chicken or burgers. And doesn't make you feel like you need a snooze after it (or a poo).
Well done. Its a great addition to Perth's boring fast...
