Not Worth the Price ā Better Off Upgrading or Trying a Backpackers
We tried to cancel before arriving, but unfortunately, it was last minute and this was the cheapest option my wife could find.
Pros: Cleanliness: Despite reading some rough reviews beforehand, we found the room to be reasonably clean.
Water Pressure: Surprisingly good.
A/C: It works, but itās old and very noisy.
Cons: Wi-Fi: Nonexistent, despite being advertised as free. Iāve had to rely on mobile data for work, which has been throttled and painfully slow.
Security: Pretty concerning. Doors have holes, cracks, and glass replaced with plywood. Sliding doors are āsecuredā with sticks, and the front door feels like it wouldn't withstand a toddler's kick. I wouldnāt leave anything valuable in the room.
Surroundings: Unkempt and run-down. The view out back is basically a rubbish pile, and the motel grounds are full of rusted railings and uneven tiles ā not ideal.
Amenities: Very limited. Instant coffee and anything you can microwave and eat with your hands. Thatās about it.
Shower Issues: The curtain is too short, any water spray from the shower goes straight down soaking the floor and making it slippery.
$200 Security Deposit: Frankly ridiculous considering the state of the place. Honestly, if Iād accidentally taken a door off its hinges, Iād be tempted to invoice them for labour ā the place needs solid new doors across the board, ones that donāt let sunlight stream through the cracks.
Iāve roughed it plenty of times, but when Iām paying $128 a night for a place, I expect at least the basics. Honestly, the most Iād pay for this would be $50, maybe $75 if they actually had working Wi-Fi. Otherwise, donāt waste your time ā this place needs serious upgrades. Youād be better off spending a bit more or even booking a backpackers. Id personally go as far as going Bush before...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only positive we can say about this motel is that the bedsheets were clean & the bed comfortable. By far the worst motel weāve stayed in & weāre well-travelled seniors. The premises were uninviting from the start; they demand a $200 āsecurity bondā in advance of arrival & in addition to full prepayment of price which is immediately deducted using your credit card; the staff member who took phone details of our $200 security bond failed to note them in their system so when we arrived at 5.05pm the office was closed, with no access to our room or key (fortunately another staff member came to the door upon our knocking & arranged room access & key); the room was in poor condition with large holes punched in dirty walls; toilet flush button broken; room door showed evidence of major repairs from being forcibly opened; all furnishings were old & in need of repairs & maintenance; premises adjoined hotel at rear with no fence, & noisy drunks wandered through, even scratching our hire car in the process; TV was old, too small & poor reception; blood on bathroom door. And so it goes on....

Housekeeping staff were kind and understanding, but reception was appalling. Despite keeping my room tidy and being respectful, I was refused further stays after raising valid concernsālike a disruptive visitor, visible drug use, and lack of basic utensils. Instead of addressing them, the receptionist yelled, āI DONāT CARE!ā and threatened to call the police. I never complained about the rooms, just asked for fairness. A housekeeper, Joe, even went out of her way to help me find mental health supportāsomething reception showed zero empathy for.
Iām struggling with homelessness, injury, and mental health, yet I remained polite and apologetic, even when I broke down crying. I wasnāt asking for luxury, just a safe place for one more night to sort out urgent medical help. Instead, I got treated unfairly. Rooms have WH&S issues, housekeeping smokes outside guestsā doors, and my luggage was tampered withāyet Iām the problem? Only stay here if the streets are your only...
