Attention vegans!!

The simple vegan, is not vegan. The mayo is not vegan. They should be saying vegetarian with the option to make vegan and make sure you confirm that they are using vegan cheese. We only know this because my partner has allergies and is hot on asking about products and was super shocked when the guy at the counter said the mayo was not vegan. Oh and sometimes they are out of vegan buns? What? Like it’s smothered in butter?

One ingredient my vegan partner is allergic to is onion and we always ask for no onion and we’re guaranteed to ask them to make it again because our little onion friends try to make their escape from this dump by hiding in our burger.

Sadly, we have made the mistake of ordering from this establishment too many times but I think we’ve been burnt enough to not make the mistake again.

The first order when they first opened was delicious and perfect. Since then, burgers smell and taste off. It’s like they actually got the ingredients from the garbage. I feel sick thinking about pushing myself to eat it and doubting myself.

Also burgers are soggy and disintegrate, like they hit fresh air and perish. I’m not joking.

My friend ordered with us on our very last order and was told the chicken wings were the middle section/ flats so she ordered thinking that’s what she’d get and got the tips only? I’m vegetarian so I don’t understand but she said this isn’t what they confirmed and there was basically no meat. She was very disappointed.

To add to this horror story, they put someone else’s order in her bag and she was a Good Samaritan and said there was extras she didn’t pay for after she opened to investigate, touching the abomination she found trying to work out what on earth it was, clearly a contamination and they re packed it for the poor person who did order these...

Ordered a Canadian burger which was missing key elements, had no gravy or cheese curds, basically the whole reason we would even order the burger. This burger was just mustard mayo and patty. When we called to advise that this was not acceptable we were initially told they would give us a 10% discount on the next burger which was frankly not acceptable, this is the first and last time we will be ordering from the Mount Barker site. They said that the gravy was out of stock, no mention of the cheese curds which we didn't realise was missing until we dug around in the mayo. This excuse is strange to say the least as we placed a phone order and this should have been advised to us when we placed the order if we wished to proceed with it. We have had Benny's at other locations and we were advised if anything was ever missing or out of stock which was not told to us in this instance. After much discussion we were told told they would refund the burger which has still not been processed 2 weeks later. The food here was pretty good. I had a vege burger which was great but it was overloaded with sauce. I've heard they are meant to be sloppy but I'm not personally a fan of sloppy burgers. Besides that it taste pretty good and atleast they had vego/vegan options! The kids nuggets and chips serving size was huge and the burger portions were pretty good. Kids got the milkshakes which were pretty tasty too. The service was pretty good but our family was the only other group there which seemed weird for a Saturday night. I would imagine the atmosphere would be better if there were more people but I don't think the facilities could handle more than a few customers at the same time.
