Lady Annie — Restaurant in Mount Lawley

Don’t usually post bad reviews of local places because I’m a big fan of supporting small business but had a rough experience here recently. My wife can only have one shot of espresso a day but enjoys a large volume of coffee. All the other cafes we’ve been will do one shot of espresso and one shot decaf in a large flat white which is what we ordered today. Unfortunately, we were informed by the managers at Lady Annie’s that they “can’t do that”. When I asked about why, the gentleman responded that it was because it wasn’t part of their coffee program and they’ve never done it. When I pressed about why it couldn’t be done, the manager simply said they’ve never done that but I could buy a shot of decaf espresso separately and put it in myself if I wanted. I mentioned that their competitors (Bossman, across the street btw, big fan) were able to do this, he just responded “fine” to end the conversation. Also, one of the cashiers said she “wasn’t aware of that rule” when I asked. It’s disappointing because we just moved around the corner and would love to frequent this spot but their inability to put a shot of decaf in a large coffee behind the counter - a fairly simple request I would think - means we’ll be taking our business to one of the other great spots along Beaufort.
