I attended eltons a few days ago.
this review is directed towards management and the owners. i feel for your staff! i dont think the below issues are their fault. they dont seem to have much guidance at all! so to them thanks for doing the best they can.
Before writing my review i had a look at some reviews for the past few weeks.
Unfortunately, not much seems to have changed nor does it appear that management has attempted to rectify any of the issues that previous patrons have experienced.
first of all, it was difficult to get the attention of your staff members. They did not try to look at anyone to see if they were ready to order.
secondly, patrons who had ordered before most others in eltons did not receive their food first. I overheard a few people saying they had not received their food and looking shocked that we had received our food before them, as they had ordered before me.
the tables were also way too close together... considering that their is still a pandemic!!
also multiple times... i am talking up to ten times, your waitresses approached tables with a meal to which either the receiving customer would say "ive already had that" or "we didnt order that". no organisation at all.
the food was mostly good. would recommend the crab tacos and the fries. prawns were nice. salmon patties and fritters were average at best.
i think that all of the above has caused the food to suffer which i think if your staff was managed better, then my review would be 5/5.
hopefully you sort the issues out cause i think there is a lot...
Read moreSecond time I have been here during the day and each time it is the same. Very noisy. Most of the noise is created by the staff chatting loudly, scraping chairs rather than lifting, banging things down, just no effort to keep their noise down. Rough,.loud, insincere manner, including the way you are spoken to. So many hard surfaces and the noise reverberates and pounds in your head. This is not a place to relax and enjoy the ambience. There is one very domineering staff member who may be setting the awful tone for this place. Lovely stained glass windows and wooden floor that hints at a delightful experience, only to be disappointed. Outside you have to contend with the traffic and uncleared tables. The person who makes the pancakes, lemon curd and berry compote obviously hasn't tried to eat it. I thought the first time it was just a once off occurrence bit after the second time I realised that this poor quality of service, noise and just everything about the whole experience, was how it is. As Mudgee is visited by tourists and mine workers that travel from elsewhere, I think there are many who are disappointed just put it down to a bad experience. Is this how...
Read moreIf there is a non star rating option, I would provide this. We are tourists and were treated badly. Think about hungry and tired 5 kids and a senior who travelled from a far and got rejected even when we told the first waitstaff who asked if we are ready, that we will eat and we are just looking at the menu displayed outside. When we were ready, the other waitstaff who is most likely the senior waitstaff told us that they only accept bookings and I have ask nicely to accept us and also I reasoned I don't see any tables booked that has a "reserved" sign. I feel that they could have accommodated us since it is a Friday late lunch 130pmish (closing 3pm) the place is not busy and after we finished our late lunch on a different restaurant we still see tables available after passing by. It defeats the purpose of a restaurant and a tourist place to provide happiness and good experience for Mudgee. We have tried other restaurants that has bookings acceptance only but will accommodate if there are tables available but this experience is unacceptable and regret experiencing to be treated this...
