I have known this restaurant since it was constructed. It has changed hands a couple of times but the one thing that does not change is the food. Over more than 30 years, there are still some of the original menu favourites available. Each chef brings his own specialities of course and this has only enhanced the flavours that are available. Like most Asian restaurants in Australia, catering for the Australian tastes is a tricky balance but here they achieve this with ease and very fast service. To be fair, there were very few people in on the day we were able to have lunch there, so it was even faster than we had expected. Plate sizing was good and table service was pleasing. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion, they offer the usual banquet, main menu and specials at lunchtime. Dinner may have different specials or not, I can't say for sure as I am not a local any more and have not had an evening meal for almost five years. 😊 You have nothing to lose, but you do have a chance to try some of the best Asian cuisine in...
Read moreBirthday lunch today and I must say standards have slipped. Crispy pork was basically mini schnitzel pieces and very oily. Spring rolls were overcooked and yes oily. Seafood combination was okay and probably the best dish. Lemon duck was average but dry. The satay beef main meal was atrocious. Very watery, capsicum and onion cut very large and no flavour. Staff suggested to me that putting rice on the plate made it watery? 🤷♂️ Anyway they made another which was even worse as they used the cornflour to thicken what I can only say is the the meal I sent back. The cornflour was congealed in lumps and not very pleasant to eat. The rice was average but definitely not as fresh as usual. Staff seemed disorganised and not on their game today. Very dissatisfied and disappointed as they are usually excellent with their meals and service. A very not so happy birthday lunch for our client. Hope they can improve and get back to being the best. Love this place usually and hoping this is...
Read moreWorst Chinese food in 60 years! I ordered honey king prawns and extra large special fried rice as a takeaway meal. The prawns were rubbery and indeed very chewy. Absolutely nothing special about the fried rice - the only vegetables were peas. The meat was ham and there were some shrimps. The rice was hard - very undercooked - in fact crunchy. Given that this place came highly recommended by a friend, I thought maybe the cook just had an off day - we all do - so phoned to air my complaint. My call went to messagebank - I left a message with my number advising I had a complaint about my meal from the night before and asking for a call back. No call back came. Very disappointing. The young lad who served me was very pleasant and helpful - his customer service skills are not in question, but given the lack of call back I cannot rate the customer...
