We had been frequenting this place for years and the food is good. However a word of warning, if you get takeaway, check the bill. Calculate your bill before collecting it. They have a takeaway price list and a restaurant price list. The takeaway price list is cheaper. If you question the price they will show you the laminated restaurant menu and justify their price that way. Note that the takeaway price list was their current one. One day I decided to challenge that after realising that they keep using the same excuse and not updating their takeaway price list. I said they had to honour their published takeaway price and the reply from the chubby curly haired woman was a very rude “whatever” while she adjusted the price. I mentioned that the previous week I was also overcharged and she rudely questioned what order was it and taken aback as it shouldn’t matter what order it was. I just said I was overcharged by $3 and left it there. When I went to pick up my order she was feverishly stapling the brown bag containing my order which I found strange but thought nothing more of it. When I opened the bag I found at the bottom it was filled with $2.90 of 5 cent coins. How petty and that is the last time I’ll be ordering from there. Maybe she was having a bad day. Maybe she should have stayed home. If she isn’t the owner of the restaurant she should definitely be talked to and given a warning.

This use to be my favorite Chinese restaurant around the area, today I was utterly devastated by the absolute atrocious performance done by the chef. We ordered the beef brisket claypot and the seafood claypot, firstly we were slightly suspicious why they came on so quickly, our confusion was quick to clear up as we saw absolute watery piss of a dish (if you are unaware, theses dishes suppose to be somewhat thick stew), the beef tasted old and stale, the vegetables inside feels slightly rotten in your mouth. On the other hand, the seafood claypot is blander than drinking a bloody spoiled Heineken, the mushroom must be soaked in water for year to taste sour, all the frozen seafood is no better. I wish no one have to endure this absolute pinnacle of torture that is consuming these dishes, thus I leave this review as a warning to anyone that use to enjoy this place greatly previously. IT’S NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE!!!

Oh yeah, another hidden gem. You would not pick this place for some fair dinkum Chinese, from the outside or inside, but step inside and place your order. We had take away buffet and what a delightful meal it was. Stand out of the night was a whole Roast Chicken with Chilli and Vinegar. Other cracking dishes we had were: Mee Goreng Fried Kwai Teow Singapore Noodles Honey Chicken Special Fried Rice Prawn Crackers So get some friends o we to your and order takeaway or make a night out and dine in, with BYO also available.

This place is not what it used to be a few years ago, go elsewhere. I've been eating here since 2015 untill today. The current owners bought HKC a few years ago and since then it has been on a steady decline on many fronts. It's worth noting the previous owners (Lee & Ping) cooked traditional Cantonese. Lee, the previous owner/ chef and the other 2 other male chefs he had in the kitchen with him were all internationally experienced and accredited chefs, and it tasted as such, litterally world class. The current owners are Malaysian Chinese (so different) they keep putting the prices up but the quality & taste continues to decline drastically. Today was the final straw for me and I will not eat here again. The chopped red chilli was not fresh and half way to being rotten/ off. When my chicken arrived it was rediculiously oily and dry (im still picking it out of my teeth) and even had burned/ char marks on it, which it has never had before, because it's not supposed to. The owners daughter is waitressing by her self for lunch service and is regularly overwhelmed because they need 2, so customers wait longer for their food/ service, expecially when the phone rings. The owners wife bought my horrible food to my table again today because her daughter was overwhelmed and she says nothing, no smile, no hospitality at all, just a cold stare, no facial expression, no "enjoy your meal" nothing. I used to eat here on average 6 - 10 times a week under the previous owners, but haven't been here for a couple months before today & today is the last time ever. If you want quality Malaysian Chinese in the general area, try...

Went for lunch today. The service was poor and unfriendly. I asked for the music to be changed, and for it to be turned down also after that, so that we could hear each other talk. Both were not done willingly, but I remained polite and friendly, with no response from the waitress. The quality of the food was also very poor. The Spring Rolls and other Entree were tasteless and not crisp. The Laksa Sauce was by far the worst I have had in recent times and I eat it regularly at other Asian restaurants in Fremantle. The soup element was poor, lacking in authentic character, and the quality of the meats and vegetables were sub standard in quality and preparation. The only saving grace were what I presume were commercially bought noodles. I have had far better locally at the same price, and given the poor service and poor food, I would certainly not recommend it, nor will I return. Hong Kong Cuisine certainly needs to up its game - it is nothing like authentic Cantonese style food! The restaurant decor was also dark and uninviting .and the restaurant virtually empty. All in all a very poor experience! If I could give it a zero I...
