Take away with combination of two meats. (2021-06-24)
I was so lucky to be offered a free sample of roasted pork ('Yes! hot, cruncy, and juicy!) as well as a free sample of KL Cha Siu ('Eh, this one is half melted in my mouth) straight from the kitchen. 'Chop! Chop! In front of my very eyes.' Hot food surely has to be eaten straight away. Haha...ordered take out with combination of these two meats. Happy ending. 'Be there at 11 am to avoid queue up!' Photos of off-peak time added.(2020-06-23)
Chop Chop BBQ Melville. Two types of BBQ pork to choose from, that is, either 'KL Style BBQ pork(Cha Siu)' easily melt in the mouth or meatier type 'BBQ Pork(Cha Siu)'. (2021-06-17)
This afternoon we tried a few more dishes such as curry chicken noodle, Hainanese chicken, Honey chicken, roasted and BBQ pork. The BBQ pork that comes with less fatty part (Half melted in the mouth) has more meat to bit. Need to tell them what type of BBQ pork you want at the counter. (2021-06-13)
Eugene, the boss and the chef and also an alumnus of UWA, started his business 3 years ago in CBD. Over the years, he managed to upgrade his food quality to the closest taste of the food in Kuala Lumpur (KL) where he was raised before he became a WA resident. With his remembrance of the food taste and with the help of his KL chefs, he brings us here the melt in your mouth KL BBQ pork. The KL BBQ pork is juicy, soft, tender, and is easily fall apart upon biting. Next, the crunchy roasted pork skin with the soft meat is also roasted to ensure it is easily melted in the mouth too. The oil fried dried red Chili has a fresh and roasted taste. The red Chili sauce tasted a bit sweet, a bit sour with the presence of lemon juice. The taste is like KL chicken Chili sauce. By the way, long queue though. Enjoy!...

I ordered roasted pork and chicken rice takeaway last month. The cashier didnt want to give me soup foc using my own container until I made a fuss. I dont understand why takeaway customers are not given soup foc but have to pay. First, they dont need to be served. Second, they dont occupy a table freeing for other customers and no need to clear or clean the table after eating. Third, they dont use plates, forks and spoons, which have to be collected and brought back to the kitchen to be washed. They save so much services and should welcome takeaway customers. I dont understand why they treat takeaway customers differently.
Today (21 Oct 2023), we gave the Chop Chop BBQ Myaree another try. We went before the lunch crowd so there was table available. We found the restaurant to be very noisy, too much echo with no sound absorbent material at all. The roasted pork was soft boiled pork belly with the skin roasted later on. It was not the real authentic pork belly which is soft, tender, succulent with cracking skin and with a layer of fat. The pork belly was soft boiled meat, no fat and lack taste and texture. The dish came with coleslaw. I havent seen another restaurant serves coleslaw with roasted pork belly rice in my entire life and I have been to most countries in Asia and traveled all over the world. The soup tasted weird and they only give you half a small bowl. The chilli sauce and hot oil were nothing to rave about. It is also very pricey at $16.50. You get charged if you want more soup or chilli etc. Other restaurant charges $13. Roasted chicken rice at CRC cost $9.30. And you can have as much soup or chilli as you wish.
We wont...
Read moreSummary: Delicious food and lovely owners. My favourites are the Roast Pork with rice (crispy crackling, succulent meat) and the Fatty KL Style Char Siu Pork with rice (so succulent it falls apart in your mouth). Rice is full of flavour too.
Long version: Myaree is the second Chop Chop Restaurant. The first is on Barrack Street in the Perth CBD. The Perth restaurant is packed every lunch time on a work day for good reason. The roast pork is the best in Perth in my opinion. My partner from KL agrees. Crispy on top. Succulent meat. Just perfection. The KL Style Char Siu is super succulent and the flavour is amazing. Their Hainanese chicken is also delicious. Everything else on the menu is good. Their rice is flavoured with chicken stock or something, with a sauce and some seasoning on top, not just your ordinary steamed white rice. Every combo meal also comes with a delicious soup with us very flavourful.
The quality of the food at Myaree is, in my experience, as good as at the Perth restaurant. The food almost always comes out within a reasonable fast period of time, which I think it's impressive for a constantly busy place. The owners, Eugene and Sarah, are lovely. Simply by being a regular customer of theirs, we have become good friends.
Chop Chop is a regular restaurant I visit when in Perth CBD, and now I regularly visit the Myaree location when in that area. I highly...
