If you’re craving breakfast and you ever find yourself in Nedlands, I highly recommend Little Way. Located on Broadway, it’s such a great venue, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, along with a relaxed vibe. Wood floors abound and there’s subtle use of exposed brick on a couple of arch ways, which gives a nice rustic feel. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
As you walk in, there’s seats by the front windows with a nice view of Broadway. If you turn left, you’ll come to a larger indoor section with booths and tables. There are also a few tables out the front, which are popular among dog owners. And let’s not forget the two well-appointed outdoor areas. When it comes to seating options, you really are spoilt for choice.
The outdoor sections are great. There’s a courtyard at the side of the venue with well-designed lighting, which is complemented by nicely maintained gardens. This is a great spot to sit and enjoy a coffee or after work drink and just watch the world go by. You could easily have a birthday here too, as they have a long table that I’ve often seen booked out for functions. They have gas heaters to keep you warm in winter, which is great for those nights when a jacket just won’t do. 😊
The other outdoor section is at the back of the venue and is absolutely outstanding. Known as ‘the park,’ you can tell the owners have put a lot of effort into its design. There’s plenty of room, lots of seating and it even has a giant connect 4! This means it’s great for kids and adults alike, which makes planning your event that much easier. The park is nicely lit and also has lovely gardens. It even has two big suspended cane chairs, which are always a good idea!
I sat inside on my visit, as it was a little chilly that day. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming, with options for all day breakfast including chilli scrambled eggs and a bacon and egg burger. There’s also a great selection of sweet and savoury muffins, florentines and cookies to choose from. The coffee is great too. People with dietary restrictions can enjoy the food here too, with vegan, vegetarian, gluten and dairy free options available. Plus, it’s kid friendly, which is great for families. Oh, and they serve, beer wine and spirts, which is great for those looking to chill after work or couples who want to enjoy a pre-dinner drink.
I chose a meal that’s become an Aussie staple - the avocado smash. It came with confit cherry tomatoes, feta, radish and dukkah. To top this dish off, I added two poached eggs and a side of mushrooms. I really enjoyed my breakfast. The sweetness of the cherry tomatoes contrasted well with the savoury flavours of the mushrooms, feta and avocado. Plus, the radish lent a nice crunch to the texture of the dish. I also had a cappuccino, which was well made and went down nicely.
The menu includes small plates (arancini, salt and pepper squid and the like) as well as sides like chips and garlic bread. There’s also a great selection of more substantial meals (such as risotto and barramundi) for lunch or dinner. I once tried the black angus beef burger and chips for lunch. This was a good choice - fresh and full of flavours that complemented each other. They cater to the health conscious too, which is great to see.
Little Way is a great venue for events, including high teas and weddings. And it’s only a short stroll to the river. So, you could always head down there for that riverside wedding photo shoot.
So, whether it’s a takeaway coffee before work, a weekend brekkie, or your wedding, Little Way have got it covered.
PS - I recently had the tacos - one with bacon, scrambled eggs, guacamole, tomato salsa and aioli and another one the same, but with chorizo instead of bacon. Both tasted great. The eggs were fluffy, and the bacon and chorizo were really flavoursome. Plus, the guacamole, salsa and aioli melded really well with the eggs and chorizo/bacon. Throw in a fresh lime wedge and you’ve got a real winner on your hands - literally! Cutlery not needed!

Read moreI’ll start on the positive venue was perfect for a baby shower high tea cute gardens and atmosphere that’s all I can say was good.
Service was so poor it was almost unbelievable when you pay for a bottomless 2 hour high tea you expect to get more then 3 drinks and not have to wait 45 minutes for 1 drink and god for bid you ask for a bottle of water. Waiter an older man was flustered rude and not apologetic what so ever. Food was meh tiny portions which also took a hour to come out! Most high teas have to be pre booked with numbers confirmed so I’m not sure why the wait for EVERYTHING was so extreme when your only there for 2 hours.
Probably the worst high tea I have been to, payment was bizarre too I understand if you pay for the lower package eg tea/coffee if you would like a juice or sparking you would have to pay extra but if you pay for top package surely you can get a juice instead of wine if you feel like it.. nope you have to pay! Even charged us for bottles of water to be on the table! I had an elderly nan with us and it was 40 minutes and asked 4 times for some water to be brought out for her in the heat/sun.
And just to add parking sucks limited parking out the front and hard to find street parking around close side streets.
Won’t be back which is...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. Booked a seat for Little Way online, and specifically requested to sit inside, however was seated outside. Ordered drinks and food, with drinks coming out relatively quickly. It then proceeded to rain, and the staff were very slow at catering for this incident. Understandable it wasn't planned for but was made to wait for about half an hour, despite multiple tables inside being empty for the duration of this situation. After acknowledging a table inside was available, we were eventually told we could sit inside. We then proceeded to wait an hour and a half, at which no food was being presented. A starter and pasta dish finally came out after the wait. However, over half of us guest still had not received our burgers and another dish when the starter and pasta was clearly finished. As a result, of only 2/6 meals not being served within the two hours, we left. No apologise from wait staff or manager. We politely paid for the two meals and drinks and left.
Will not be dining here again, and utterly disappointed as previous visits the food has been good, but not good enough to wait...
