Great fresh fish and stunning views! This is tucked away at the end of Teramby Rd and past the Marina and what feels like the back of a fish market. The walk is worth it. I stopped by for lunch and we were able to get a table for 4 easily with stunning views of the bay and we even managed to see a few dolphins! We ordered a mix of plates from Calamari, Barramundi to the Orange Roughy which was a seasonal recommendation. The Calamari was fried but was fresh and not rubbery like you may get in a Sydney food court. The Barra was also good. The highlight was the Orange Roughy. The portion was a little small but it was super fresh, flaky and cooked to perfection. Will definitely eat again.

Great food, we had the special three fish battered meal and natural oysters... fish was fresh as the ocean.. and very lightly battered, the had a great assortment of sauces... notably they had chopsticks and soy sauce for sone of the tourists! Lol... views are quite amazing and staff were very friendly. Great place to stop and eat with a great walk up the piers when your done..

Other reviews are right. Skip the other two places along the bay and come here. Better views and food, service was friendly and congenial. Can only fault them for not having cutlery at the table. Also, you're technically not allowed to eat seafood purchased from the other fresh seafood venues nearby in store, but they didn't stop my partner eating her oysters.

One of our little local hideaway. The five stars are from the awesome food and beautiful outlook. Unfortunately 2 stars for two of your wait staff today. I brought 90 yr old mum out for lunch after being housebound for wks, asked if we could sit outside, waitress was escorting us to a table at the far end of the verandah, but I motioned to the stairs that mum has difficulty with, ( which seemed to inconvenience the waitress 🙄, was being led back inside when I asked if we could sit at table 14, to be told the other customer hadn't left so we had to sit inside. 10 min later still no one had returned to the lovely veranda table. Then another waitress started to clear the table, i asked again and again was told other customer hadn't left. She walked away leaving one empty plate. They both avoided eye contact with me and left the table vacant. Their smirky attitudes stink !!!!! We did get our table. No 12, tanks to the one waitress who understands reasonable customer requests. The other two need attitude...

My family and I dropped in here for lunch stop traveling back to Brisbane from Melbourne, We thought this place looked like a nice place to drop in for lunch, We ordered two coffees a bowl of chips for the kids and two drinks costing over 30 dollars, as I have special dierty needs my wife had made a pre packed lunch for her and myself, even before I could start my sandwich the owner came out from nowhere and told us this is not a picnic area and asked us to put away our food or leave. I felt so embarrassed and left the cafe feeling humiliated. I would not recommend to travelling family's.

Response…We had brought a couple of Sandy’s not an esky full of food.. we purchased coffees chips and drinks for the kids spent a lot more than 17.. at least be honest when...

Nice location but unimpressed with service attitude on this special weekend for Port Stephens Tourism. Attended the Port Stephens Sailing Reggata with the start on the forshore by the Bay Side Harbour Cafe, sitting on the breakwater rocks which is "outside of the cafe area" also giving the best view for race start. I like supporting local cafe service of to eat and drink a hot coffee, but was abruptly told to move along by Bay Harbour Cafe staff even though my partner was buying inside their premisis . Too interested in the race start to argue the point, we cancelled our order and moved along to enjoy the sailing scene and beautiful day on the fore shore In another location, and more tourism friendly marina area that facilitated us in a more smiling and...
