It was a gorgeous morning in Mollymook - perfect for looking at the view and sipping on a coffee. The crowds, noise and mayhem at the Beach Hut Cafe on the beach drove me to walk up the street to the only other cafe in this part of Mollymook, Breakers Cafe. Located on the ground floor of an apartment building, I spotted the A frame sign outside boasting of Fish River Roasters coffee. I know this brand well. They produce fabulous coffee beans in Bathurst. Few cafes understand that cakes and cookies are not the only option for a snack with a coffee. I did not want lunch yet, just a coffee and snack which was not a cake loaded with cream. It was not be. I could not find anything savoury so I accepted my limited choice and ordered a cake from the display cabinet. It would have helped if the pleasant young woman at the counter could tell me what was the cake I pointed to. The sun was a bit hot, so I chose to sit inside. The outside tables face the road and are not particularly pleasant. It was a little stuffy inside however I persevered. A short time later, I received my macchiato and small cake (with lots of cream). My test of cafe’s coffee cred is always a macchiato. Have a look at the pic. The barista at least knew what how a macchiato looks. The deep flavour of the Fish River Roasters beans was very satisfying. The three layers of the macchiato were fine. It was satisfying. I enjoyed it. The cake? Average. This cafe has a market. It is clearly family friendly and a short walk from the beach. The menu appeared much like many other cafe. I would go back for a quick coffee if they stay with Fish River.

A very good Cafe although somewhat overpriced. My partner and I came here and ordered 2 juices plus a meal each and it was almost $80! That being said the quality was good just hard to see why it would be so much Aside from the high prices we enjoyed the juices, they were fresh and tasty As for the meals we had the chicken and avocado cheese melt which was nice and the lamb salad which was very yummy and delicious. The setting outside overlooking the ocean is great and the service here was particularly good, we had very friendly and super helpful staff and we appreciated that very much Definitely worth a visit if you're not a budget

Inside is lovely and cool, and fairly empty since everyone prefers to sit outside. The meals are are perfection, eggs are a delight and the hash browns have the perfect crunch. My friend had the eggs and sourdough, great value for the price. Dropped by on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Couldnt resist and grabbed an Iced Chocolate too. Will certainly return.

I had high expectations of the duo at Breakers, having read an editorial of thier combined experience, ... unfortunately we recently bought a takeaway burger and fish n chips. Couldn't have been more disappointed, we waited for over 30 mins, the "wagu" burger was luke warm, no condiments just a few reheated chips. The fish n chips, straight from a packet, heavy doughy batter, and random fish, same chips and a tablespoon of 3 day old woolies coldslaw, without dressing. That went in the bin. Wow, not sure about their experience, may have been in hospitality management, but certainly wasn't in good food or customer...
