Canton Restaurant - Toukley — Restaurant in New South Wales

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! My family and I were on a holiday in the area and were recommended to have dinner at this restaurant. We ordered a few main meals with fried rice and drinks. We initially received only one meal without any rice or drink. We kept asking for the remainder of our order as our first meal was going cold. The staff were slow, rude and unprofessional. The meat portions in our meals were half of that at other Chinese restaurants that we have dined in. Our drinks finally arrived at the end of our meals and we ate in a state of dehydration. When we asked to speak to the manager they were rude and said that he was too busy to speak to us. The table adjacent to us also had a bad experience and were visibly upset. Due to the small portions, we all left feeling hungry, although we payed a premium price for our meals. What a waste of our time and money!! It put a damper on the rest of our holiday. Dine at...

I first came to this restaurant 33 years ago as a kid and have been a semi regular customer ever since. It has been an institution on the Central Coast for all of my life, renowned for outstanding food, generous portions at reasonable prices. It breaks my heart to see the rapid decline of the quality of food in the last 6 months. I am not sure what has happened, but I hope they fix it soon.

Tonight we dumped half of $105 worth of takeaway in the bin as it was simply inedible. The crispy skin duck was at my estimation cooked a long time ago and then battered, deep fried and served tonight. The rice was stale, rubbery and old. The veg spring roles were literally sweet like candy rather than savory. The garlic prawn may have to be renamed as there was hardly any garlic involved.

I am really going to miss this place and all of the great memories...

We had Dinner in this Restaurant last night 13/9/22 and were less than impressed with the Service and the Food we received. The Waitress who took us to our table looked like she was bored with what she was doing, no smile and no welcome. The Food came out very fast and that's all that was good. The Crispy Shredded Beef in Peking Sauce was like eating card board with sauce. Then it was the Sizzling Prawn and Chicken with mustard, this was taste less and I did not know where it was going, is it Chinese !!!, the Special Fried Rice was worse huge hunks of onion with a few bits of chicken and it was just inedible, no flavour no sauces added, a disaster. I am not sure if they were having a bad day in the kitchen or is this normal for Canton. This meal cost us $72. for the 3 dishes....
