When passing through Tamworth on Friday the 1st of November we decided to try the Dragon Palace Chinese Restaurant because the take away menu at our accommodation stated this restaurant was an award winning restaurant. We were sadly disappointed. This was the worst chinese food we've ever eaten. We had chicken chow mien with little flavour and the worst singapore noodles ever. The noodles were dried out as if they had just been reheated. There were only prawns in the noodle dish. There was no egg or pork or beef like there should have been. We were asked on leaving how our meal was. We stated it wasn't the best we've had. We stated the singapore noodles were dry and missing the pork, beef and eggs. The waitress stated she wasn't sure what should have been in the dish. We couldn't eat it all at the time and decided to take what was left with us in the hope it may taste better the next day. We had to throw it out. What a waste of $32.00. We should have sent the meal back or walked out and not paid for it. We don't know how this restaurant...
Read moreWe enjoyed a beautiful meal tonight at Dragon Palace. As usual, the staff were very attentive, polite and aimed to please. The meals although ba little on the pricey side were tasty, fresh and hot. We enjoyed Short Soup and Mini Spring Rolls followed by Salt & Pepper Prawns (absolutely beautiful), Boneless Pork in Plum Sauce (tasty), Buk Choy in Oyster Sauce (very yummy) and fried rice (flavour was exceptional). Dragon Palace has improved even more since our last dine-in meal. The serving plates, the tablecloths, the bottled water brought to the table on arrival are all improvements since our last visit. The total ambience of the restaurant is of a high standard whilst still being very family friendly. I would highly recommend Dragon Palace for your next family or group outing or just for a lovely...
Read moreI dined at the Dragon Palace in Tamworth tonight. Let me start by saying it was one of the best Chinese and Asian restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining in. I had 3 different mains and they were each distinct and delectable. If Tamworth wasn't 15 hours drive away I would happily eat another succulent Chinese meal. The staff were very friendly, food was brought out so fast it surprised me. Prices are fair for the quality and quantity (around $20 for a main). The decor and general vibe inside was splendid, additional points for having a water fountain (the world needs more water fountains). This review might sound suspiciously positive but I mean it all; I wouldn't change a thing. How Tamworth of all places has such a good restaurant I couldn't tell you, but I salute...
