OMG!! JUST AWFUL!! Meat is so dry with all this white stuff on alot of pieces (see photo)..clearly been sitting there for A LONG TIME. San Choy Bow is edible however floats in a huge amount of oil!! Vegirs biggest disappointment as NO COLOR, SOGGY & CLEARLY COOKED HOURS AGO 🤯🤯..If I could give them NO STARS OR LESS I WOULD.. Should have anticipated this was going to be REALLY POOR QUALITY as food was not only ready after appx 10 mins, but well before Dasher had even arrived to collect it!! VERY OBVIOUS ITS ALL PREMADE.. Just like the 2 tubs for $9 you can pick up at a food hall at the very end of the day after sitting out in baine Marie's all day.. only MORE EXPENSIVE AND MUCH, MUCH WORSE!!!

I've only ordered once before from this restaurant (months ago..) and in addition to putting severe allergies (esp chilli) in EVERY section incl bottle of Soda, due to my ending up in hospital if I eat even a tiny bit of chilli, I rang them 1st to advise severe allergies. Whilst Soda didn't have chilli 😁.. meat dish AND fried rice came with SO MUCH FRESH CHILLI ALL THROUGH IT & EXTRA ON TOP 🤯🤯.. they did fix this and whilst I finally got dinner 3hrs, 22 mins after ordering, it was freshly cooked & I felt I could try them again. BIG MISTAKE!!!

Will have to stay w THE BEST Best Chinese restaurants on Coast.. Harry's @ Ettalong Bowlo & Woy Woy Chinese.. unfortunately I live at Springfield and am in isolation waiting for COVID test thanks to selfish SOBs who willing & deliberately bought it to Newcastle last week (normally would NEVER have reordered here.. no choice atm)..

$46 for TOTALLY INEDIBLE FOOD!! If you love REALLY AWFUL CHINESE, HAVE SEVERE FOOD ALLERGIES AND ALOT OF $$ TO WATSE, THIS IS THE RESTAURANT FOR...

I feel pretty bad for giving such a low rating but this was really one of the worst Chinese I’ve ever ordered.

I spent $90 on 4 dishes, hokkein noodles in special sauce, black bean chicken, San Choi bow, and salt and pepper squid. The pepper squid was by far the “best” but even that wasn’t great. Didn’t have a lot of flavour and the batter was thick. Furthermore it had a plastic lid and was closed shut so when our delivery arrived it was soggy. The flavour wasn’t bad, but could barely taste it.

My kids LOVE black bean chicken, but the took one bite and refused to eat their dinner. It tasted nothing like any black bean I’d ever had. It was like a sweet thick oyster sauce with some specs of black bean, other wise I would have thought we were given the wrong thing. There were barely any veggies except for onion and some capsicum and canned bamboo shoots.. which you can tell are canned because its distinct flavour is soaked through the whole dish.

The SCB and the noodles were pretty much cooked in the same thick, sweet oyster-y sauce. But without the black bean. So 3 different dishes but the same sauce.. and it wasn’t a nice sauce either.

we ordered extra so we could have leftovers for lunch, but 3 almost full containers are going in the bin.

I’m just sad that on the off chance we order take out, we’ve basically wasted our money.

So please, save yourself the heartache and order...

This was the worst Chinese I have ever ordered. Plus I ordered through door dash so couldn’t get a refund. Two dishes were so salty they were completely inedible….. the combination chow mein was in a dark watery salty sauce……not what I expected. The crispy beef was soggy and had a thick coating……. I was VERY disappointed. I wasted $78 dollars for food I had to throw in the bin. That’s how bad it was. I phoned the restaurant and the woman that answered pretty much dismissed me, no offer of new dishes or anything. Do yourself a favour and don’t...
