Was very keen to have engagement party here, paid tripple of what was needed so I could have my ‘grazing’ table. Met with head chef and head of catering multiple times to ensure this could happen as this was a must for my event! I was promised and promised that my needs would be met and that they have a lot of experience dealing with my type of needs! When making contact with manager leading up to the event he was not wanting to have little to no contact at all, and could not wait to get of the phone to me when discussing my event. The day of the event the room was not ready for me to set up furniture everywhere, not to where I requested. Food from lunch service splatted all over the dance floor and tables. Food was brought out separate when I specified that I wanted it ready by 5:30 I also had to ask for the hot food to be brought out as my guest were hungry, I also had a staff member vacuuming halfway through my event! When the team asked if they could do anything i suggested maybe puting some money on the bar as I spent unesscary money on food platters that were meant to be a grazing table and ready at a certain time, their reply was no! After I sent out a formal complaint I had the manager contact me apologizing for the events that happened that night and reassuring me that I’d me compensated! Still to this day 5 months later I have not heard a thing! Whenever I contact the club they reply with it’s in management hands. I want to share my experience with ppl to ensure no one else gets sucked in and spends the amount I did hoping for a beautiful night getting nothing in return!
It was a once in life night for my fiancé and I and we will never get it back
Very very disappointed! Need I say how horrible the food...

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Mariners Cove Bistro at the Gosford Sailing Club. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the stunning waterfront views and the welcoming atmosphere. The bistro was packed with diners, which is always a great sign, yet the service remained attentive and efficient throughout the evening.
We started our meal with garlic bread, and it was perfection—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with just the right amount of garlic and butter. It set the tone for the delicious meal ahead.
My wife and I shared the Seafood Linguini, and it was an absolute standout. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the seafood was fresh and generously portioned, all brought together by a rich and flavourful sauce. My daughter opted for the Chicken Schnitzel, which was golden, crispy, and tender, served with perfectly cooked sides. Her husband chose the Angus Burger, which was juicy, full of flavour, and stacked with quality ingredients—exactly what you want in a great burger.
To top it all off, our drinks were mixed and poured to perfection, complementing our meals beautifully. Despite the bistro being full, the kitchen delivered meals in great time, and the portion sizes were generous, with flavours that truly impressed.
With its fantastic food, great service, and unbeatable waterfront location, Mariners Cove Bistro is a must-visit. The buzzing atmosphere only added to the experience, and it’s clear why this place is so popular. We’ll...
Read moreI have been coming to the Sailing Club since about 1977 and have never had a bad experience there; until today. As usual, the bar staff were friendly and helpful as were the serving staff from the kitchen. The problem arose when I found a fragment of what looked like, and felt like, safety glass in the mushroom sauce that accompanied my steak. I became aware of it when I bit into it with a loud crunch. I took it to the kitchen to bring their attention to it but was told, multiple times, that it was not glass, it was rock salt. This determination was made without the staff member even looking at, or examining the clear fragment on the end of my finger. I told him that I could tell the difference between rock salt and glass but I was told multiple times that I was incorrect. He never even looked at the piece I was trying to show him. He told me that rock salt was used in their cooking and that I had probably picked it up from the oysters. Even though I didn't have the oysters and the rock salt that accompanied them was blue. At the end of the discussion he had no interest in even looking at the fragment and was denying responsibility to cover himself. He was quite content to tell me that I didn't know the difference between rock salt and glass when I bit it. So sad to see a good venue spoiled by the arrogance of one...
