Mad Mex — Restaurant in New South Wales

Very displeased with overall experience, took the kids out for their 1st mexican food experience. Upon walking into the restaurant there was an abundant amount of flies, to the point even one of the worker's were shoo'ing them away. Service was very poor and the young girl that originally took our order should consider a job that doesn't require human interaction as her whole demeanour was very unpleasant, as if she was forced to be there. Sat down started eating and both my youngest and my mouths instantly started burning, despite having "mild" salsa, my husband tried both our meals and stated that they were more spicier then his and he requested the spicy salsa. I pushed through the burn but stopped half way through when I pulled out an old hard crusty but of chicken from my guacamole. Informed a server ( the only worker there who was actually doing a decent job) she apologised and went to tell the manager. Manager approached and when I told her about said finding, she instantly responded with "well I didn't make it so I don't know". Worst $60 ever spent. ...

perhaps the store manager has a type, but every time i go to this store, they always have the dopiest, rudest, and impolite teenage girls serving on the counter. if you’re unfortunate enough to find yourself at this establishment, be prepared to be met with people who wouldn’t bat an eyelid if you died on the floor. they would expect the next customer to step over you so they can take their order in a condescending tone. here’s a tip girls, if you hate dealing with customers that much…. quit and stay at home! if you can’t handle taking food orders from people at a job YOU applied for… stay inside and don’t come out until you’ve learnt some common decency, manners, and respect.

staff aside, the food is subpar. mad mex’s competitors outshine this poor excuse of a franchise. options are limited, portions are small, and it severely lacks a mexican authenticity overall.

Miscommunication between staff and myself when ordering whilst busy. Had to remake my food after trying to remove cheese first and realised it wasn't gonna work. Then charged me for extras I didn't get and for a bigger size burrito than I got. Only after I questioned the price after paying they were like, "Oh, then rudely asked do you want a refund". No problem solving skills, I asked for a drink instead as they were busy, and they said I could have a can. The price difference and inconvenience would have been a bottle. The rice was hard. Most times, the rice is undercooked, which sucks because the food is great sometimes. Bit of a roll of the dice on if it's great or not. Some service is great and sometimes not so much, just...
