I'm a little reluctant to leave a bad review as overall it was a great night out but we finished up annoyed and frustrated. The food was really good however the service on the other hand was really bad. We were ignored at the beginning and crowded/rushed at the end. This was the mature lady who's idea of customer service is non existent. We waited ages to place our orders as we were seated without menus, we just chatted until they realised. Food was great however because we were the second sitting arriving at 7.30 we were told the kitchen stopped cooking at 9.00PM which again is perfectly fine. My adult daughter was slow eating her meal as we were chatting and socialising as you do and the mature waitress hovered around grabbing bowls as they were finished. What really annoyed me though was she came over before my daughter had finished her main and picked up the plate with the side dishes like pickles and Kimchi asking her to put it into her main bowl so she could take the plates back to the kitchen. I really hope she reads this review and realises how totally rude this action is. We were told not to rush as the kitchen staff leave right on 9.00pm however then then she did this. It is extremely rude and has really put me off going back again. We spent well over $200.00, the food was great but this just left us feeling really annoyed, it is very poor service and certainly did not make us feel like valued patrons. She was happy and pleasant enough however this...
Read moreRang before we went to check BYO drinks policy and they stated BYO wine only. We were given 4 wine glasses, only 3 people had wine. When I went to pay the bill I was hit with a $16 corkage bill which was not previously disclosed. We were in a large group of people and they only billed us by twos with the person you were sitting opposite to sharing your bill. Unrelated people who had very different amounts of food and drink were left asking around the table for cash to pay to the person who ordered less. This policy made no practical sense at all. I was going to order the tempura prawns and vegetables until I found out you only got 2 prawns and some battered vegetables for $23. I ordered teriyaki chicken and green salad. The salad consisted of a small amount of various lettuce leaves, minuscule pieces of carrot and little else, which you had to eat with chopsticks. In short, poor value for money, uninspiring portions, poor billing processes and extra charges that were off putting. Would not take a group...
Read moreI used to come to the place that was here before Miori and always a ceded why they purposely preferred to cater efficiently to a few diners rather than have a house full and keep people waiting.
My first time here since the new guys and I sat for twenty minutes before I was forced to catch someone’s attention in order to try and place an order!
I noticed a lot of staff back and forth to one table behind us who maybe requested all their food served at once or this is how it’s done here. Not sure.
But instead of diners receiving small plates over the course of their dining experience which is common in Japanese restaurants, they try to get one table out of the way at a time....!?
Anyway, the food was good. I would go back. For sure.
Pity some of the dishes are crazy expensive.
We didn’t have desert as I’d already spent enough of my life there. I didn’t tip as we didn’t exactly receive much in the way of service.
I’ll give them another...
