Stumbled across this gem and honestly… I get why the locals love it. At Ruby’s, everyone seems to be on a first-name basis—like walking into your best friend’s living room (but with amazing coffee and books!).

The staff were super friendly, and the owner even sat down with us for a quick chat—just genuinely curious about how we found the place. That kind of vibe? Rare.

The food was spot on, coffee was perfect, and the whole place just felt good. Cozy, welcoming, and full of character. Definitely one of those spots you leave already planning your next visit.

Don't a book by its cover. Go where the locals go. Just like the understated shop front. The breakfast was cooked really well. Service was incredible!!! When the locals call the Barista by name upon entering, sits down, order is prepared and delivered within literally 2 minutes from the time they entered into the front door. customer service speaks volumes. Update Jan 2022: We still got there as its one of the two decent breakfast cafes left in Umina. We still have the omelette (sadly no more asparagus) and french toast and its just as good as the halcyon pre-COVID days. Congratulations for surviving when so many did not.
