it was THE worst experience dining here which was our first time visiting. I called them half an hour earlier asking if they sell nepalese style pani puri. They said yes then my 3 friends and I went to the restaurant and the waitress came exactly 25 mins later after being called twice and said that they cant make pani puri cause it is busy. And it was busy so we changed into some other entree which again they couldn't make and told us that they can only make samosa for entree which we didnt want. Then we ordered 3 chicken and 1 veggie momo sadly and some drinks. Another 20 mins later, after asking for our drinks we got it just some cold drinks. Then, more than AN HOUR later, a guy brought our food and told us that there was a bad news and cannot make my veggie momos which I waited more than an hour for after being refused any entree and having called beforehand. It was ridiculous. On top of not being able to serve our order, they did not offer any credit, some other food or even a sorry. I was furious but stayed calm cause I didn't wanna create any more trouble to them. Lastly, yes we were nice people so we didnt say anything and I returned home hungry without eating anything after nearly 1.5 hr but I hope this does not happen for any other customer ever and the restaurant can learn to put more people on duty if it is supposed to be busy instead of not giving their food after such a long time cause the chef is too busy as it was not my...

This is probably going to be the first and last time we would be eating from this restaurant. We had a takeout last monday and the food was actually very pathetic! We ordered very common food like momo, chowmin, biryani, choila and sekuwa, and couldnot believe how a nepalese restaurant go wrong with the basic flavours of these dishes! The veg momo!! I would not expect veg momo to be great, but never have i eaten such bad veg momo ever in my life. The pork jhol momo was very okayish, but the jhol was very average only. And chowmin! The quantity was very less, and tastewise it was 1/5 . It had too much soy and vingegar, making it bitter and sour at the same time, dint have any good smoky flavour which stir fried chowmin has. It was just dunked in the pan with some sauce, that too, without flavour, n not properly stir fried. The buff chowmin had very rubbery buff pieces, I dnt know why they even hother selling it. Sekuwa and choila were not that good too. And finally the biryani! It felt like a clickbait. Dont call it biryani if it is just average fried rice with below average flavour guys! My review seems very cruel, but believe me, after a long day when you actually wanted to eat some good nepalese food and you get this below average food, I wouldn't want to do it any other way. What a waste of our money and mood that evening! Please Durbar...

We had decided to have indian food when this popped up on our google maps. We were excited to have nepalese khana thali set so we called the restaurant to check if booking is required/ seat is available. They informed walk-in is fine so we reached within 20 mins. They had an event going on which was very loud and we didn’t want to eat in that environment, so we talked to them and decided to come back. We went there after the event was over but it was meal time and there were lots of people and very loud still. We ordered khana set. It was a bit expensive but if the taste and service is good, price is not a problem. The waiting time was very long. And when we started eating we wanted to order more, but no servers in sight. They didn’t even bring water for us and didn’t come to check on us. After one of us was done, we called them on their phone to attend our table. Also they seated us in the corner where nobody would pass. And we got extra rice and paid 5$ for that. They were apologetic but as their price is high, you would expect good customer service. It was very unorganised. Food was okay but the service not good at all. We live in Sydney and have never paid that much for a khana set and definitely not for...

We were looking for Nepalese food on our way back from Anna Bay and came across this place. We visited a couple of weeks ago, and both my wife and I with my little son were super satisfied with the experience. The restaurant has a beautifully set-up, spacious dining area with a cozy touch. There are a few couches with tables in the right corner, a small dance floor with vibrant lights, and a big projector screen playing music videos, adding to the lively atmosphere. Everything was well-maintained, including the clean and tidy washrooms. The food was absolutely delicious—flavorful, fresh, and authentic! On top of that, the customer service was exceptional. The lady serving us (I didn’t get her name) had a great sense of humor and made us feel truly welcome. If you’re looking for amazing Nepalese food in the Newcastle region, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

We went for family dinner @Durbar last week. Entire space was changed/ re-furnished since we visited the place last time. Restaurant looked bright, spacious, colourful and welcoming. Customer service was very good. Sister who took our order and served the meals was friendly and cheerful. We had Newari set, varieties of Momo, panipuri, sekuwa and many more. Every meal had Nepalese authentic taste. Chicken chhoila was the show stopper. We had beautiful family dining experience and we will visit here again. Only one thing which we would like to recommend is to add Nepalese music to give complete Nepalese vibe and home feeling. This will also promote Nepalese culture along with Nepalese taste. Thanks.

Came for a dinner with my wife in Darbar Restaurant. As we entered the venue, the ambience was so beautiful. We ordered Chatpate, bhuttan, Buff jhol momo, pork steam momo and plain Naan with Dal makhni. As a customer here's my honest review for the food on the scale of 10. Chatpate : 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️ Bhuttan: 8/10 Buff jhol momo: 10/10 Pork steam: 9.5/10 Daal makhni: 8/10 Overall it was 9/10 but the chatpatey and buff momo are the showstopper ❤️❤️ A big shoutout to all the legendary chef and a beautiful waitress who served us a beautiful meal and make our night memorable. If we came to newcastle again, we will definitely loved to visit this place. Listed on my bucket list. Until next time ❤️
