EDIT: Wednesday 19th June 2024 , We come again to Charlestown Square as we regularly do each week for GP appointments like I did this week for the 2nd time in 2 days , I wanted to let Centre management know that the wooden bench seat opposite Muffin Break needs to be either removed or have the brakes fixed because a couple of times now we have sat on it whilst waiting for each other to finish in the nearby toilet š» we have sat on it and the the whole bench just tips up and almost throws you on the floor it is quite scary when it happens but itās actually also a dangerous thing for the elderly customers and anyone with disabilities and like myself and my mum who has serious bone and joint issues which requires ongoing orthopaedic surgeon review it is definitely not safe , I suggest someone look into this matter before a customer gets seriously injured and either requires urgent medical attention from the the doctors from the nearby Charlestown Square Medical Centre or a Emergency trip via Ambulance to John Hunter Hospital please, It would be very much appreciated if someone can look into the stability of their wooden bench seats . š Thank you .
Iām sure I have wrote a review before but under my sisters name as I didnāt have my own google account at the time, 13/12/2022 But I wanted to say you really need to have your cleaners go into the female toilets and make sure the floor is dry because the amount of times I have gone in there and the floor has been absolutely wet and slippery especially in the food court ones I have nearly fallen over myself and with my disability and bone and joint issues if I fall over and break something my orthopaedic surgeon is not going to be able to surgically fix any breaks as Iām at higher risk of picking up post surgery infections and Iām scared that elderly person could fall and break a hip or a child could slip over and crack their head open on the wet tiles so can you please have the cleaners put more wet floor signs in the toilets and go and dry the floors more regularly so this doesnāt happen especially with the school holidays coming up this week it would be very much appreciated,
Thereās another issue that has been going on especially over the last few months is people walking around out in the car park where the Charlestown Square Medical Centre is located out the back of Terry White Chemist is there has been numerous times where people asking / harassing people for money and itās not only scary but itās creepy too because you donāt know how theyāre going to react toward you when they get told no so your security really need to walk around out in that car park and around the taxi rank and medical centre more often ,
Otherwise I love coming here to do my shopping you got lots of different shops to choose from and great places to get lunch or dinner as well as Woolworths, Coles and Aldi and banks all in the one location except for ANZ you gotta go for a longer walk to get to where theyāre located, We are pretty much out there every week at least more then Westfield kotara,
Thank you so much for that entertainment the other week with the Christmas music blasting across the shopping centre including food court , I do recommend this shopping centre....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMyself and my wife were recording my shopping experience for my social media and an hour or so into the stream, I was approached by security and asked to stop filming. The security guard arranged for me to meet a centre manager at customer services. The management gentleman and a security manager promptly met with me to discuss this. They advised me that it's their policy that there's no filming or photography allowed within the centre.
I suggested that perhaps it may be a good idea to put signage at the entrance to the mall so people are aware of their rules.
The security manager said that the rules can be found in the terms and conditions on their website, however it states that filming is prohibited for commercial use. My use case was not commercial.
I will say that the people at the mall I interacted with were very friendly and polite, however I'm not sure the information they provided me with was accurate.
The whole experience ruined an otherwise pleasant shopping experience.
If someone could direct me to the website where it expressly states that filming and photography is prohibited for someone that is not filming for commercial use, that would be much appreciated.
And I maintain that it would be a good idea to make it clear upon entry, with possible signage that filming is not allowed.
I am aware that it is at the owner of a private property's discretion weather or not filming is permitted, however I did not speak to the owner. I did politely comply with their request, although I was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCharlestown Square is a super shopping centre, in all senses of the word. Following multiple upgrades and extensions over the years it has matured as a (I would say 'the') major shopping destination in the beautiful city of Lake Macquarie and it naturally also serves Newcastle residents.
The Centre is land-locked, not enjoying any views of our beautiful lake or coastline. This is not a problem because the very design and style of the place is to be entirely self-contained. It offers the great indoor shopping experience, pleasantly cool in summer and warm in winter and thanks to ample covered parking, dry when raining.
There is a vast range of shops. Yes, yes... I know, most of them are the typical chain stores or franchised stores one finds everywhere in large shopping malls but that's to be expected. The sheer convenience is a wonder, with considerable variety and real competition between stores.
The Centre is well maintained. It is kept clean and tidy. The toilet facilities are plentiful and well presented. There are advice kiosks in the major thoroughfares and other displays that help locate what you may be looking for. There is generally enough seating for those periods of shopper exhaustion. Free Wi-Fi is available by registration with an email address.
Indeed Charlestown Square is so large it is not surprising that it has a large food court, where many different types of foods can be tried and enjoyed (watch the waisteline!). There is also a...
