🌟 Fernleigh Cafe - Adamstown’s Hidden Gem! 🌟

If you’re looking for the perfect spot to start your day, look no further than Fernleigh Cafe in Adamstown! Tommy, the maütre d’, is absolutely fantastic – always welcoming, witty, and ready for a chat. He’s like the community’s unofficial counselor, bringing laughs and good vibes to anyone who walks in.

The coffee? Hands down, the best in town – I’d even award it “Best Local Coffee!” Breakfast is delicious, with fresh and beautifully presented plates. Plus, the atmosphere is incredibly friendly; it’s a place where everyone feels like family. Inside and outside seating, dog-friendly, and full of friendly faces.

Come for the coffee, stay for the chat with Tommy, and enjoy one of the happiest starts to your day. Can’t recommend it...

My husband and I had breakfast at the Fernleigh Cafe with some friends two weeks ago on Sunday morning and found the food and drinks to be quite nice. However, we couldn’t believe it when we were asked if we could move to a different table outside to accommodate ‘regulars that would be arriving in 5 minutes’. At this stage, I was still finishing my breakfast and our friends had just started drinking their second cup of coffee. Our friends also had their six month old baby with them and were not comfortable sitting out the back due to mosquitos. The waitress that asked us to move did return to our table shorty after this (perhaps after considering how rude her request was) and told us we could stay at our table after all! Very strange and left us feeling...

Brunch on a weekend for two. Raining outside.

Pros Reasonable prices with good portions. Taste is good. (If that's your thing) Cosy indoor seating.

Cons There is a fine line between a "ruin" and "recycled" aesthetic. This place missed the mark with comfort and aesthetics. It's cold and unwelcoming - and that's inside! Outside seating is both a falls risk and tetanus risk. Cleanliness has much to be desired. One of our coffee cups had obvious lipstick on it. A water cup on the other hand had an eyelash. Staff apologised profusely, but this should never happen and made us question how clean everything else was. Very limited indoor seating.

TLDR: If it's the only cafe open, come here. Double check that...

What a discovery !! In the middle of suburbia we found this ramshackle little cottage with various indoor spaces and a big old backyard. Like it had been plucked from a country backwater town. I’m a bit of a Brekky connoisseur and couldn’t fault one thing on my plate. Delicious soft scrambled eggs on sourdough with hash brown, gooey onions and confit cherry tomato. I swapped the bacon for super tasty roasted field mushrooms. A big generous serve and only $18. The coffee was on the money too. It seems to be a popular stop for bike riders and I can see why. Well worth setting your google maps to this funky destination !!!
