After a quick glance at the menu, I decided to play it safe with the big brekkie featuring scrambled eggs and added avoâbecause, letâs face it, you canât really mess that up. My partner went for the scrambled eggs on toast, also a low-risk move. Add to that two decent coffees and a chocolate thick shake, and we were looking at a $62 bill, which seemed like a bargain.
First red flag? No sausages for the big brekkie. Instead, they offered extra bacon. Fine, weâll roll with thatâbaconâs always a win. But then the food arrived, and bamâred flag number two. The âbigâ brekkie was more like a âsnack-sizeâ brekkie. And, wait for it⌠no toast. I repeat: NO TOAST. A big brekkie without toast? Thatâs a culinary crime.
The mushrooms looked like theyâd been for a scenic drive around town before making it onto my plate, I had a sliver of tomatoâbasically tomato confettiâexactly six baked beans (yes, I counted), and the scrambled eggs seemed to have made a pit stop in the microwave on their way over. The only thing saving this breakfast from total disaster was the mountain of bacon (respect).
When I asked about the missing toast, they promised to bring it out⌠which they did. But by the time it arrived, my âbigâ brekkie was already a memory.
Final verdict: Pop in for a coffee (theirs is pretty good), but maybe pass on the food unless youâre into culinary...
Read moreThe food was really good. I had the southern fried chicken style burger. It was crispy yet not dry chicken. The sauce amazing, and the chips too. You know how you love a good chip? These didn't disappoint. The place itself very clean kept. The only issue I had was that we walked in and seated ourselves, helped ourselves to the menus. We hadn't been before, so being greeted would have been nice, and told to come to the counter to be served. The only time we were acknowledged really was when we went to the counter to order, And when the food was dropped off. We did give a wave and say how nice the food was. The only thing I can say is please rather than 3 people standing on phones or talking, just even say from across the room, welcome there's menus on the table when your ready come...
Read moreWOW! Just came back from a tiring fishing trip with my dad and needed a quick breakfast to fuel us up. We saw this when driving by and ordered our food. The coffees were astonishing, best decision youâll make all year. The food was on a whole new level, prices were amazing and cheap for the large portions and just tasted like nothing youâve tasted before. We will be coming back for lunch đŻđŻđŻ and the atmosphere was great, by the river, quiet and...
