Terrace Bake & break is a humble cafe with traditional Aussie cafe style food and atmosphere. They do cooked breaky and sweets, as well as pies. Nothing special in their food or pies, but all fresh and housemade. The sandwich is made on the spot and the ingredients looked fresh! Drinks are the same, no fancy coffee beans or latte-art used but with traditional style coffee and tea. We ordered mushroom pie to have on the table and caramel slice to go. The pie was ok as you expected, flaky pieshell and salty fillings, but the meat was minced, not chunky. Caramel slice was disappointing though.. I could not bite the crust bit because it was way too dry. Staff is friendly, and helpful, with big smiles in their face.. feeling welcomed. The price is reasonable for small business. Read moreThe pie had some good flavour but the pastry on the bottom was not cooked properly so it was stogie and heavy to eat making the pie underwhelming totally. Then the meat had some pieces of inedible chewy bits either offal or weird gristle.
The staff and owners smiled and make a nice little place but I have to say for a bakery to have uncooked pie pastry?? It’s more of a lunch caffe with good looking Vietnamese buns and smelt like good coffee.
