Went to the Jesmond pub for an 18th birthday, having younger grandchildren with myself I found the place nothing for the kid or activities nd while being under the age of 3 they do run occasionally.
They could not cater for kid menu for chicken nuggets and had to resource other venues to provide food to feed the grandchildren.
The manger came out with security to a table of all women and young kids very intimidating stating that the kids could not eat that food due to safety hazards and good protocol, considering the area we were to sit at was a beer garden where the smoking area is also. We are a family of non smokers. After the manger had given the whole table a scolding and explained that the food is not offered on what 2-3 year olds would eat, the manger then proceeds to state that the kids are to be stepped in and down and not run at all or the whole party/ celebration would be removed.
The manager and security staff then stood at the glass doors closer to the incidence had just given many unfriendly looks and was very intimidating with the young security guard, the security guard and manager went towards one of my grandsons 2 years old tending over the top of him, he wa putting on a bar stool no running then stated control your children the security then taken my grandson and removed him from the stool without permission to put hands on him.
The child’s mother yelled don’t touch my son the security and manager both said she would be thrown out of the area causing distress to my grandson.
This is the first time attending this venue and would not return it’s appalling that kid te to eyed on a smoking tea and be treated this way.
The food was terrible I left a full plate nd many other people very greasy would have been better attending a gig and chip shop.
The service I would give 0 stars and the attitude of the staff would be a negative if there was an option, as I left the venue the meat raffle was on the rude manger was calling out number security by her side not paying attention to any patrons and looked like they had there own private agenda it was so disgraceful considering each person spent over $100 or more in less then 45 minutes to be treated...
Read moreA group of 7 of us came in on a Saturday night for dinner. At first glance it was a well presented and clean atmosphere. Service was friendly and quick and dinner well, let me just say whoever cooked that night was on fire. We ordered salad, fish, brisket, pork, schnitzel and buffalo chicken and every plate, every bite was absolutely delicious. We are not easily impressed, and love our food so have high standards. The brisket was flavourful, soft and done well. The Caesar was made with love and care, not just a thrown together salad. The optional extras are the usual chips, salad, veg, chats and the chats were actually seasoned properly with infusion of flavour, the salad was dressed, not just dry leaves in a bowl. This is not common believe it or not. The ribs were amazing, schnitzel large and succulent. We all ate from each other's plates and enjoyed it all. We are definitely coming back. Keep it up and please don't...
Read moreWe dined here last night. This is my second time. This time was a date night with my partner rather than a large table for a birthday dinner. We came in late and a young blonde girl greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Then when ordering the young brunette serving was patient and extremely nice. He had the steak with chips and sweet potato chips. Med rare - cooked perfect. I had salmon with green beans and sweet potato. It was perfect and very tasteful. I had a semi freddo for dessert - I thought it looked ok but let me tell you the flavour was one of the best I have had. I loved it. The environment was relaxing and service great. Food was the best. My second five star night here. I haven't been able to fault it. The bar was busy for drinks.. but what do you expect. All the staff did an amazing job. Thank you we...
