I want to make a formal complaint about Etna Pizza Shop and its owner. The owner was extremely rude and displayed no sense of hospitality.
On 27 August, I drove about 10 minutes to the shop to pick up an order. When I arrived, the staff asked if I had brought a takeaway bag. I replied that I had not, but since the customer was only a 5-minute drive away and I came by car, a bag was not necessary.
At this point, the owner—an elderly man (around 70–80 years old) sitting at the back of the empty shop with his legs crossed—interjected abruptly, saying: “Then cancel the order.” I asked again if I could simply pick up the food without a bag. The staff looked at me, then at the owner, and the owner repeated firmly: “Then cancel the order.” He kept mumbling, clearly unwilling to let me pick up the food.
Since the owner insisted, I said fine, cancel the order, even though I had wasted my time driving 10 minutes there. As I was leaving, the owner added, “If you don’t have a bag, you shouldn’t be doing this job.” This was unnecessary and disrespectful. I replied, “If there are no customers, you might as well close your shop,” and the owner started shouting and arguing with me.
This was a terrible experience. The service was hostile, unprofessional, and offensive. Zero out of ten. I sincerely hope this shop closes down soon if this is how it...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Etna Pizzeria, and let me just say—this place has some of the best authentic pizzas we’ve ever tasted! The crust was perfectly crispy, the toppings fresh and flavorful, and the balance of flavors was spot on. Each bite was a testament to the care and quality ingredients that go into every pizza.
Beyond the amazing food, the experience was made even better by the warm and friendly service. Jack, the host, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His genuine hospitality added a personal touch that made the evening even more special. The decor is simple and rustic, and Etna appear to time-share the shop with a cafe who operate during the day; but you don’t come here for the decor - it’s all about the food!
If you’re looking for top-notch pizza, this is the spot. We will definitely be back for more! Highly...
Read moreI was excited to see a new Italian restaurant in Darwin, though having been there I can't call it a restaurant. More a fast/food takeaway establishment with an Italian chef helming the kitchen.
I've tried both their dishes that feature guanciale (the only restaurant in Darwin that does AFAIK). Unfortunately both were bland, I had to grate a lot of my own cheese at home to make them enjoyable.
I've ordered a pizza once, which was decent, and I enjoy the garlic bread.
While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, and definitely not dine in, it's proximity to me ensures I'll order again.
The chef (Luigi) is really nice, and customer service is good...
