Nowra Fresh Fish & Meat Market — Restaurant in Nowra

4 stars to the meat market. Usually get all their fish and meat from there as it's always fresh. Unfortunately getting squid from there wasn't fresh. When I got home I seen the sticker label it said product of China. I thought this store was for local or at least Australian meat and seafood. We cooked it anyway and it was disgusting. We have caught our own before so we know what fresh and quality taste like. We spat it out. It was so mooshy. we even tried to over cook it a bit to he sure it was the quality. Very disappointed in not knowing it was from China as it didnt state behind the glass on display before i got it. For the squid options, definitely ask first where it's from first. Very upset the rest will be going to the dog Unfortunately :( but I do highly recommend this place for all other options. Especially the fresh fruit and veg market...

UNFRESH SEAFOOD. Today I purchased A grade sydney rock oysters and some Australian tiger prawns. Both were not fresh. In particular the oysters were old and stiff - just horrible. The prawns were just passable. I expected better however we won't be back if that's the standard of "freshness" they are offering.

UPDATE AFTER JARROD'S RESPONSE. Why as the owner do you not notice that the oysters are days old or the prawns are crook? Isn't that your job, particularly as you highlight that this can happen from time to time? Never again will I buy seafood from Nowra Fresh. It was disgraceful.

Great selection of seafood and meat... The offers are super fresh, pleasing to the eye and you can always find some bargains. Seafood from a variety of oysters and prawns, lobster, bugs, scallops, salmon, barra, flathead tails, bream, snapper, tuna, squid, octopus etc etc... Meats from choice beef, veal, lamb, chicken, gourmet snags to croc, rabbit, emu, roo, goat etc etc... You can also buy frozen goods, breads, milks and freerange eggs etc..
