Wholeheartedly regretting my decision taking the family for lunch at the Pinjarra pub, today. The moment my chicken parmy arrived, I could smell a sour odur. Thinking it was the Parmesan, I went ahead and ate a few portions of the burnt dry parmy. It wasn't the Parmesan. It was the bacon strips used in the sauce that we're obviously spoiled. Didn't touch my chips or salad after that. Disgusting. My husband's porterhouse, that we requested be cooked medium rare. Was in fact cooked to the likeness of a leather boot. Husband didn't touch his chips or salad either. The waitress came to the table to clear, asking if we'd finished. Staring at the plates because we'd hardly touched our food. I told her exactly why. She then apologised, took our plates. Then went on serving customers. We didn't hear a thing after. No offer of a refund. Nothing!. Two things a pub should take pride in, is the quality of their parmy and steak!. No pride or care was taken whatsoever. A special treat for my family, was a kick in the guts literally and metaphorically- as I sit on the toilet at midnight... Thanks...
Read moreBeautiful hotel with a nice atmosphere. The parking availability is a little awkward, but worth the manoeuvring to find a space for the food and beautiful surroundings. There is seating inside as well as outside under cover or right out in a beautiful grassed area by the river.
The food my husband and I both had the chicken parmigiana, I enjoyed it good chip, salad ratio the vingarette dressing was lovely and tangy and fresh on a warm day. The parmigiana itself was cooked very well, tender and juicy and your knife barely has to do much work, the cheese was very generous and the sauce bold in flavour. Husband said best parmy he had and he usually hates crumbed food but said it was a nice thickness of crumb and crispy must have been good he...
Read morePub was busy but service was quick. I ordered a steak sandwich, and a Caesar salad with anchovies for extra $5.00 for my friend. Salad dressing was unpleasant, croutons soggy and bacon overkill. My friend is a lover of Caesar salad and orders it religiously, and states that it was the worst she has ever had however, she claims the anchovies were exceptional. My steak was tender, but the flat bun was as hard as a rock, and the salad consisted of gourmet lettuce, some kind of jam, and a balsamic sauce that was not in the least bit, a compatible ingredient. Towards the end of the sandwich a small tomato appeared, and the side serve of chips were good. I've never had a bad steak sandwich until today. The pints were nice and cold, and...
