Pinjarra does not have many options for cafes/bakeries. When travelling to Dwellingup we would occasionally grab pies/pastries from Pinjarra Bakery which we found unbelievably overhyped and overpriced and we would really only resort to it as an act of desperation. A few people recommended us Kim’s Bakery so we decided to give it a go. What can I say. If your tastebuds are not too sublime you will maybe enjoy it. It’s a typical Vietnamese bakery. If you’re coming from Perth and are used to pies from Fussy Meats or pastries from Chu, give this place a hard miss. Pie was of virtually same quality as Mrs Mac’s pie you get from a servo. Donut was tough as if it wasn’t fresh. Same as eclair. Worst part about pastries we got was the cream - it had a really foul taste to it. Everything here is obviously made of cheapest ingriedients. Everything went straight to the bin. The most edible item we purchased was veg pastie. Don’t get me wrong it was still 3/10 at best - touch pastry, full of dried corn kernels and virtually tasteless but at least it was not foul like cream & meat. We definitely will not be back. At this point prepacked sandwiches/wraps and bakery products from local Coles seem to be the best & safest lunch option when...
Read moreHave had the same issue with the same person several times over several years with making the same basic ham and salad sandwiches. Although the bread is nice there often is parts of salad missing, or a blob of butter on one slice, seasoning is an issue often not done. Even though these continual issues have been raised with the same sandwich maker she repeats with another issue. Example, last week the grated carrot was missed, when queried the next day with the same person she made the sandwiches awful, butter was on one slice in a big blob, no cheese and the sandwich was overly salty... We both feel both our sandwiches had been deliberately made awful by this person. We have both again informed the staff at Kim's...
Read moreKim Bakery was recommended by a local. So, on the way through Pinjarra we dropped in. Value for money pies; my steak and kidney had huge chunks of each and the better half's chilli pie was deliciously mild to hot in pungency. Coffees were exellent. The staff were very friendly and actually served us at a table by the window. Something pleasantly surprising. The crockery was a bit weird, looked like water was left on the plates, but that was the design. There was a chip out of one plate if one was to nit-pick. We went back a couple of days later and picked up some cold pies to take home. The lovely lady put them in a box and actually wrote the name of each pie on a cellophane cover for us. Above...
