Zambrero Port Lincoln — Restaurant in Port Lincoln

Very disappointing! We place an online order for 6 burritos and a kids meal as a last meal when we had family staying. I arrived at the store at the time the order was meant to be ready, I still waited another 20 minutes in the store while the orders were being made. It wasn't the extra time that I waited that bothered me as I appreciate they may have been busy, although there was only 1-2 other people in the store when I went to pick up the order. What disappointed me was the manner in which the burritos were being made, literally slapped together with no care at all. The girl making the order kept looking at the order form to while she was making the burritos which I thought would indicate she was making them as per our order. Another staff member was making the quesadilla for the kids meal, when she was taking it out of the toaster, half spilt out on the counter. She looked up to see if I was watching but still just scraped it up and pilled it on top. When I got home we found every single one of the burritos was not made to what we had ordered, all were totally wrong. One had next to no meat in it at all. The kids meal, well the quesadilla was mush sitting on top of very stale, inedible corn chips. Very disappointing to say the least and we ended up having up getting something else to eat. I called the store the following day to let them know of our experience and to give them the opportunity to rectify the situation rather than just putting a review up. I was told the girl that was making the order had already received a warning and that my complaint would be followed up and I would receive a callback. I am still waiting and nearly 4 weeks...

Honestly, more times than not I have to stand there waiting for people swap out pots of things and watch one person order from start to finish before I get served. To avoid this, I tried to start placing an online order. Each time, my order had not been started by the time it said it would be ready, so again stand around waiting. People are nice sure, but the franchise management must be letting them down. I’m coming at just prior to what I assume is peak meal time, 5.30, why are they swapping pots out and telling people you’ll have to wait while this heats up etc at this time? Safety net of a regional town for the owners, but if there was another Mexican option in town, you wouldn’t see me here. Foods fine once you get it, set...

I WISH I COULD GIVE MORE THAN 5 STARS! One would assume that all Zambrero stores have a level of cleanliness, presentation, freshness and customer service…but this store is absolutely top tier! I spend a lot of time waiting in line for burritos, and honestly have never been into a store that presents itself so well. I was actually amazed at how clean it was compared to my local! The young gentleman that served us (I didn’t get his name, he was young and had ringlet curls!) was so extremely kind, explained the new ‘big burrito’ promo and sold us.
