My hubby and I frequently visit McDonalds, Bay Street Port Macquarie. Our visits are usually lunchtimes DURING THE WEEK DAYS, in particular, Tuesday and Wednesday. There are two Barista's on Tuesdays and Wednesdays that we particularly love getting our coffee from. Cathy and a male Barista (don't know his name) both work extremely well together and make excellent coffee. Hubby and I like our coffee extra hot, and that's exactly as it comes. Love walking into the Store and seeing both their faces behind the Coffee Machine. Can I also make mention of Sandra, the lady who cleans the dining room, toilets and generally makes a customer feel very special and welcome. When we walk into the Store and see Sandra there, we know that we can just take a seat, and the table will be clean, rubbish bins not overflowing with rubbish, and should we need to visit the bathroom, that is always clean as well. She is such an asset to McDonalds,. Bay Street Port Macquarie. We prefer to stay away from McDonalds, Bay Street on the weekends. The last time we visited the Store, was a couple of weeks ago. The Restaurant was absolutely filthy. Food all over the tables, floors, bins were overflowing, mirrors and ordering screens were covered in fingerprints. Didn't dare walk into the Bathroom. Overall, it was just filthy. We walked straight back out again. Our Food that we purchase at lunchtimes during the week is 80% as ordered. There are times when the chips are cold, but an exchange is always forthcoming. There may be other little issues that occur, but we have found them easily resolved. There is much to be desired regarding Customer Service behind the Counter, but have noticed a slighty improvement in that area of late. There needs to be a lot more 'common sense' training for the learners, including communication to the customers, ensuring the meals are packaged correctly, efficiency and other requirements that come with being a 'good customer...
Read moreWorst McDonalds ever visited. More like a teenage creche, than a fast food outlet. And there's nothing fast about the food being put out here. The first two times the meals were... just plain bad. Burgers were cold... full of grease and fat. The 2nd visit the Hash Browns were so saturated with fat, the bag they were handed to us in tore from the shear amount of fat soaked not only into the hash browns' wrapper, but also through the brown paper carry bag. This explained why the dinie-in table floor area was more like a ice skate rink as our shoes slid from tile to tile upon our exit. Gave it three goes... three chances to get one food order & service done right... the third visit was the worst, and therefore, the last time to custom this particular branch of McDonalds in Port Macquarie. We were "dining-in". Waited 10 mins, then asked the front counter staff how our order was progressing, we were told, "Sorry for the delay, our order would be 'out' soon". After waiting a full 17 minutes, I asked to speak with the manager, who promptly offered to cancel our order and refund our money. We took that deal and left. Will never return to this McDonalds ever again. Bad food, poor service, and nothing good whatsoever about the atmosphere. This McDonalds was unsafe, being full of predominantly school teenagers hanging out, (nothing wrong with that), but the public picking on each other, clearly visible bullying, loud swearing, disrespect for anyone present, throwing of food on walls and floors, with actual physical violence perpetrated in one incident between two boys near the McCafe section. Most customers on their mobile phones, attempting to ignore their immediate surrounds. I won't mention the toilets... you can imagine how bad they were appearance-wise. My friend almost vomited upon entering the toilet from the human excrement present in AND around the toilet entry area. Truly the worst McD.'s...
Read moreCalled in 29th November. Forgot to say I wanted dine in (and not asked). Sorted. Coffee, however (at $5.50) was in a take out container. Asked for it to be put into a mug. Ms Snippy "I know everything" proceeds to pour my flat white into a cold glass... Um... I point out it's a flat white. Told I had ordered a Latte, and "Latte's go into a glass!!" (tone of voice strongly indicated I was SO stupid for not knowing that....).
Nooo, I ordered a flat white in a mug. "You ordered a Latte". Found my receipt, and about to pass it over. Server suddenly changes her mind, finds a mug, pours coffee into it, tops it up with milk from in a handy jug.. By now, coffee had sat on counter for approx 5 minutes, been poured into a COLD glass, then repoured into a COLD mug, topped up with (at best) lukewarm milk. When I pointed out that a flat white didn't go into a glass, I was told "no need to be rude". Rude???? RUDE????? I gave up at that point, grabbed my coffee (now luke warm), and went and ate my lunch...
Customer service??? None existent. Prices??? I can buy a comparable coffee (in a mug) at any number of cafes in Port, at a cheaper price. AND get MUCH better service!!
Why didn't I bother to go back and ask for freshly made coffee?? Because, quite frankly, I couldn't be bothered with dealing with Ms Snippy again. I doubt she would have made the coffee anyway, without making a song and dance about it... And I just, quite frankly, couldn't be bothered...
Quiet time of day, so staff weren't exactly rushed off...
