Bamford Lane Fish & Burger Bar — Restaurant in Queensland

Took my 6 year old son in with a processed spotty mackerel he had caught , I asked if they could batter the 10 small bite size pieces for my son , i ordered a serve of chips as well and would have been quite happy to pay 2 or 3 dollars for the batter , would have been 1 dollars worth of batter needed if that , they charged me 48 dollars . My old fish and chip shop charged me 2 dollars to batter some fish I'd caught . So 42 dollars just to batter fish I had brought in , such lovely people hey . The chips are overcooked and not of good quality also . Also I owned a fish and chip shop for 23 years and this business doesn't change their oil much at all , batter was disgusting and the oil on the paper looked like motor oil it was that disgusting . Avoid this business at all cost , they are people that don't care at all...

Tonight me and my girlfriend thought we would give your fish and chips shop a go as we have never had it, and unfortunately it was by far the worst fish and chips we have ever received. The fishermans basket didn't have a lot in it compared to a lot of other places. We received the fish which we didn't even think tasted like fish, we received the ONE prawn cutlet which was terrible, the 2 pieces of calamari we received tasted like nothing. The best thing about this meals was probably the chips and they where average. We didn't except a 5 star meal but we did expect better then what we received. Safe to say we will not...

We used to buy our fish and chips from here all the time, but when it changed hands it went down hill, the fish was horrible, so we stopped going there, BUT.. last week the fish shop we started going to was closed, so we thought we would give Bamford lane another go, and so glad we did, we had the BEST FISH we have had in a long time, so this week we thought we would try again , and again we had the best fish. the fish was really nice and thick and white and the batter was great, and it tasted really good, we thoroughly enjoyed it, very happy, and will definitely be...
