One of the better courses I’ve played on. The course is presented big and modern however it was very confusing to find the pro shop which is under the main building. The staff in the pro shop were extremely helpful and friendly contributing to a great experience. The course was presented beautifully, the greens keepers clearly paid a lot of attention to detail. I played all 18 holes. It is a good course for slightly better players with a lot bunkers but no water hazards. The holes were mostly straight forward and a lot had doglegs. Greens were excellently maintained apart from the last hole that had a lot of divots. If you are looking for a very positive golf experience in then this is a delightful course to play. The entire experience was positive from the interactions with members and playing the course. Well done to everyone involved here to make the course what it is and being so welcoming to a visitor like myself.

The City Golf Club is one of those places you can enjoy now and then, just because it's big, loud, has the occasional good band, and not too expensive. But these things are also a drawback... it's good to enjoy a wine or drink there, the Melbourne Cup there was fun, but if you're not an inveterate gambler and you're looking for fine food and a classy atmosphere...maybe this is not the place to go. But enjoy it for what it is..a popular sports club that isn't pretentious.

The food was great, the drinks were as expected. The golf course was very dry and not as green as I imagine it would normally be as there hasn't been much rain and the sprinkler system must not cover the entire fairway areas. There is an excessive amount of plovers on the course, so during spring this may be problematic, for the most part they didn't attack us but they did call out and spread their wings to show that they are definitely there and making you aware of it.

Very mediocre. Service not so great. We are members of the Surf club and on arrival here, our first time, the lady at reception was not warm and welcoming but blunt and dismissive. She instructed if we lived in Toowoomba we would need to become members otherwise another club membership would suffice. We produced our surf club card and she began processing the card paying no attention at all. She just assumed it was my card when in fact it had my husbands name clearly printed on it. ID was asked of my husband but not myself and when I told her it was not my club card she just laughed. Once she was done she said thanks. No instruction or direction where to get food e.t.c. So we wandered around for 10 odd minutes until we realised where we were to order although noone was present to confirm. The whole place is quite disorganised and the overload of flyers and advertisments around make navigation quite disorientating. Food was average. A large pizza is small. Sweets from the sweet spot are not fresh and I was overcharged. Prices listed were cheaper than what they were charging. Caesar salad was full of onion. T Bone was great. I walked around to have a look and observed the reception lady greeting and interacting with customers in a lovely well mannered and informed way. Much opposite to our interaction. The gaming attendants sit behind a glass window just staring. No interaction, greeting or smile. Same attitude once we departed, no farewell or thank you. I guess only certain people get a large smile and warm greetings/farewells from this particular receptionist. Service is everything and the golf club is severely lacking. I see replies to older reviews here about food freshness and customer service but not much has been done to rectify these in...

Horrible staff, So rude and arrogant. Spent over $100 on lunch served by Emily, Didn't receive one smile. Staff walking past (We sat near the kitchen) giving horrible looks, Gosh if looks could kill (Treen) Finished our cold lunches, left all the brown lettuce on the plate that come with my seafood basket & went to get the complimentary ice cream cone that come with the $11 kids meal so it's wasn't really complimentary I actually paid for it. Ask (Shayla) at the club house counter if I could have that in a cone instead of a bowl she then jumped the gun to a no before she realised I was actually buying other ice cream cone with it, was actually willing to obviously pay for the cone. She so rudely said this one time I'll do it because your making a purchase, I let her know that I want be back so I will not need to ask again. Not to mention I bought a jug of coke at the bar, $12 asked for glasses and was told to get them from near the water self serve area, the glasses that everyone are touching when they are helping themselves to the water. Absolutely shocking the whole time, will never return and will not recommend. Will let everyone know when asked where to eat in Toowoomba. The young lady at that cleared our table was pleasant as was the lady working at the reception and she did ask if I wanted to speak to a Manager. I refused cause I was still absolutely shocked by this treatment. Not sure if it was the fact I am dressed very casual as it being a Sunday that I was treated this way but really that is no excuse. Waste of...

Had a section booked for mum's 70th birthday. Charged $200 for this booking. Wasn't even a private area as others were walking through. Meals were coming out staggered so some were eating, others had to wait an hour for theirs while others had to wait in line for over 30 mins just to order their meals. Food was cold and over cooked. Tables were clearly numbered but staff still got orders mixed up, calling out table 703 but gave it to table 702. For the price we paid to book that area there should have been better service and at least should have taken all meal orders at once and delivered them as close as possible. Two and a half hours later and some were ready to go home but we couldn't cut the cake yet as some hadn't received their meals yet including the birthday lady!!! We were NOT just another customer we paid $200 for this booking. So really what was this charge for??? Obviously for nothing as we got nothing different than if we had have just booked a table for free!!! The bar staff were rude and obnoxious. My partners first alcoholic beverage was in a short glass but when he asked for his second to be in a short glass he was told from one of the bar staff he couldn't and that it had to be in a tall glass. I have been a regular customer for over 20 years and never again...
