Came in today on a Sunday around early lunch time. We were on our way home and both feeling hungry so stopped in to get some food before the rest of our long drive. The guy at the front counter was awesome! (Not sure of his name as they weren’t wearing name tags), however despite it being the weekend and during lunch time, there were only 3 people working. The guy at the front counter and another dude+chick in the kitchen. The young man on the front desk was on his feet the whole time, and honestly should be given a raise.
He was efficient, always doing something and despite them being clearly short staffed (come on management, it’s not lockdown anymore, how about we stop using skeleton crews for the sake of staff and customers alike?) he still took every order with a smile and excellent customer service.
The two crew in the back, however, were a bit of a let down compared to him. The guy on the grill looked like he would rather be anywhere else, worked slowly and forgot to make one of our wraps (he had to be reminded by the guy taking orders). The lady on the deep fryer looked much the same.
Needless to say, the food was a let down. The fries were hot, but the wraps were only half filled and very poorly rolled. We normally love Oporto (so much better than maccas) and so normally are happy to pay a bit more for better food, but this experience has left us wondering if it’s worth it to go back as our meal racked up to $33 (two wraps without modification and one regular fries+drink).
That being said, it is Toowoomba, so although I’ll probably get Oporto again, won’t be...
Read moreOrdered from here on Friday 13/10, around 2pm just a Bondi burger and a Family size chips, I picked up the order and took it home, we open the chips and find out they have given us barely a handful of chips (for almost ten dollars) I have attached photos.
More importantly when my partner called to complain they hung up on her and phoned me instead to tell me that "The sizes have changed and family size is actually the second smallest option now" This is not in accordance with their own website or the amount we paid.
The burger was fine but the staff gaslighting me over the phone and refusing to admit they had given us the wrong amount of chips warrants caution when ordering from this location.
EDIT: In regards to the reply from Oporto telling me to reach out via their feedback form, I would like to share that I reached out, filled out their form, gave them photo evidence etc and they never bothered to reply in any manner, way...
Read moreOporto shares a segment in the market with the likes of GYG, Grill'd, Burger Urge and perhaps Subway. The meals are fair. As with most burger stores, in my opinion, the bun lets it down. Also the salad was too basic for a supposed higher end burger. I'd give the fries a similar review. They were well cooked, hot enough and nicely seasoned with salt, but I think in upmarket stores, they should be something more special and really stand above what the competition is providing. Otherwise. Decor was fine. Not outstanding. The place was clean and staff were okay. Parking was quite easy. I wouldn't say staff were enthusiastic or energetic or happy or engaging. The plant based menu was limited and perhaps that's what to expect from a chicken shop. We ate in, but our meals came out in a bag, so 0 out of 10 for presentation. Prices were on par with other chains but at around $15 for a feed I think patrons...
