Kung Food — Restaurant in Queensland

Ordered here for my Birthday Dinner . 7 dishes and $90+ later , I can safely say this was the absolute "worst" Chinese food we have ever had . The tiny pieces of meat in the beef and lamb dish were undercooked and red in places . We ordered 37 , 22 , 21 , a small 10 which was the same size as the actual size of the dishes we ordered which are supposed to be regular and 1 large fried rice which was nothing more then a medium sized round take away plastic tub . 16 and 18 on their menus . The 37 which was the in season vegetables was in reality just two green vegetables and broth (bok Choy and something else ) it was also cold . 22 The curry Beef was undercooked and just tasted like warm water and salt . 16. The bush honey sticky rice , was rubber and tasted bitter , I had to spit it out as it wasn't rice just glug and I nearly chocked on it trying to swallow it . We threw the whole container out , another waste of money . 18. The BBQ pork belly was again salty and the tiniest small diced cubes of pork Housed in the smallest (thin) rectangular plastic take away containers you would buy at Woolworths or Coles . I did call them before and I seemed confident and was assured that the large sizes were large . I also called after we got the food and queried them on the small sizes and they didn't seem that concerned except to say bring it back we will refund your money , which we denied because we were hungry but in hindsight we should have . The whole family was extremely disappointed and actually complained about upset tummies after dinner . It wasn't a great end to my birthday as we hoped it would be due to the rave reviews , which obviously are friends of the owners because in all honestly , that was not Chinese and the portions for the price , the lack of taste replaced by salt and the coldness of the dishes were the worst Chinese experience we have ever had . And it felt worst because it was my birthday and my sister felt like she let everyone down by ordering it . Our mistake we won't be returning customers . If you're looking for value for your hard earned dollars and a nice meal , I suggest you source another Chinese...

Thank you, we arrived in Atherton at 6pm tonight with a 21' caravan in tow not knowing where we could get some takeaway. We saw Kung Food and found easy parking outside with our van. We ordered Satay Lamb medium, Thai chilli Chicken, Special fried rice, steamed Dim Sims and were told it would be 20 mins it was ready in 17 mins. The food was beautiful with plenty of both meat & veg....the Satay was perfect. Thank you to the owner & staff for a lovely meal and very friendly service at a busy time. Will definitely...

Memories come flooding back....

Had Kwey Tiao since my last trip home. It was done well. Enough "wok hei" that brings back memories #getvaccinatedsoicanseemyparents.

Coincidentally all three staff members were from Penang Malaysia and can speak my mother tongue. Makes it even better.
