Read moreEdit in reply to owner. I’m very aware coronavirus and the rules and regulations that come with it in QLD. I manage hospitality venues in Brisbane. With your reasoning behind my poor experience yesterday, I would expect to see no more than 90 patrons in your venue at any time until restrictions lift, i am sure you’re very strict with this on Friday and Saturday nights. It seems I am not the only one to identify that care is not taken for small groups, pandemic or not.
I came here at 1:30 on a Friday afternoon, though it was not possible to see the full venue from the front, I would estimate it was probably at 35%-40% occupancy, probably the back end of a busy lunch. I was greeted by a friendly lady at the front and said I was looking to have a quick beer on the deck outside, maybe something quick to eat. I estimate I would have been in the venue for about 45 mins max hence “quick beer”, and that was depending on how long the food might take if I ordered. She said “the only available table, is this one here.” Gesturing towards an uncomfortable looking barrel at the very front of the venue, neither outside, and almost shoved off to the side in the path of service. I paused, staring at the almost empty venue, and told her I’d pass and then proceeded to get a drink no issues in the bar next door. I remained in the bar next door for 30 mins and Longboard never filled up, but mostly emptied out during this time. Now, i understand it’s Friday, I understand they may be fully booked this evening. But learn to maximise your venues space and customer turnover. Instead of turning people away at the door when your venue is visibly far below capacity. Every dollar counts during this time, even the space fillers between large bookings. I won’t...
Read moreDo you love abuse? Go to Longboards! Not only was the service appalling, but they also have a knack for singling you out and making you feel unwelcome. I was told, "You were the only person with this issue," in a tone that suggested I was being unreasonable for expecting decent service. The staff seemed more interested in making excuses than in helping resolve the problem, and the management did nothing to improve the situation. If you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience and being blamed for issues, this is your place. Otherwise, avoid Longboards at all costs. They clearly have no interest in treating customers with respect.
Do you love to be left crying and humiliated while the staff laugh at you? Because that's exactly what happened to me months ago. The manager was particularly abusive, adding to the degrading experience. It has taken me a long time to write this review because I'm not normally one to raise issues or leave negativity in the world. However, this needs to be said. Even someone like me, who would never want to spread negativity, felt compelled to share this to warn others.
You might just have your birthday, your elderly mother's birthday, or your young child's birthday ruined by the manager who "runs the show" with a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. Avoid Longboards if you value your dignity and want to ensure your special occasions are not spoiled by their atrocious...
