I really hate to leave negative reviews, particularly for what is obviously a business run by a very hard working couple.... So I will try to make this constructive. I have eaten a mostly vegetarian diet for most of my life and have eaten a lot of Indian food. I come to Townsville regularly for work. I thought I'd give this restaurant a try, given the great reviews... Though there is a sign on the window saying there are "new owners" I ordered the Dhal and the chilli paneer and found both very strange. The dhal was quite flavourful, but that's because there was a heap of leaves and sticks from herbs they use...but I had to pick them out, because they couldn't be chewed. I have uploaded a picture. The paneer was also not what I expected. I have been to South India and have tried this type of paneer many times and enjoy the distinct fusion of Indian and Asian flavours.... But as you can see from the pic... This was cubes of paneer in what I can best describe as Chinese sweet and sour sauce? On a positive note, the dish contained many vegetables and also the naan was really tasty and filled me up. I didn't try their meat dishes, so maybe their non-veg food is more...

Spicy Heaven offers amazing authentic flavours from Sri Lanka to India to several other exceptionally exquisite cuisines in one place.

The only indo-SriLankan best restaurant in a few steps away from the Strand, well located near the northward Coles.

Food is freshly made and flavourful with a well-rounded menu. Cosy ambient with humble service.

“Migara” the amazing chef who runs the restaurant had time to meet me and my wife for a quick chat and made the place very inviting. We really enjoyed our meals and took take away as well to fill us at late night. The food is exceprional, delicious and the service is excellent too.

The fish curry was amazing, devil chicken and fried rice was the best and my wife favourite now. 😍

I would definitely recommend having a meal at the Spicy Heaven. I have recommended it to all my friends. Do yourself a...

My friend and I went for dinner here and ordered Paneer Makini (Hot), Chicken Biryani, Chilli Garlic Nan, Plain Nan, Pol Roti, Lemon amd Mint Soda, Red Onion salad (they made on our request) and Gulab Jamun. I must say we enjoyed everything and we were very satisfied with taste of the food and generous portions, furthermore, the naan breads were very nicely cooked and were crispy just that way it should be and I just loved it. This place is good if you have cravings for different taste than normal restaurants curries or Biryani. Yes, the restaurant is not too spacious but the food is delicious so yes space issue can be ignored. This place is worth trying and spending your money where you won’t be dissappointed. Hope this review will help other people to give this restaurant a try. We had...

I visited Spicy Haven and had an amazing experience! The Lamb Rogan Josh was full of rich flavor, and the two Garlic Cheese Naans were perfectly soft and cheesy. The Mango Lassi was refreshing, and the Chicken Tikka was absolutely delicious – tender and packed with spices. We also ordered two Chicken Biryanis, which were perfectly cooked with just the right blend of spices. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic and tasty Indian cuisine!

This food is AMAZING. Tiny restaurant of 7 indoor tables and two outside, all I can say is you need to get one quick! Depth of flavour, tender meats, fresh, fresh, fresh samosa, pane puri, just blew my mind. So satisfied and happy, what a great meal… We had: Pane puri (divine) Samosa (delicate and divine) Ceylon Lamb Curry (tender, pungent, divine) Butter Chicken (balanced, delicious, divine) Rice Pilau (colourful, beautifully spiced. Yep, divine)
