strand souvlaki bar — Restaurant in Queensland

Firstly I fully realise it’s cafe food so let’s get that out of the way. Sunday evening I ordered a $79 platter and a couple of drinks $100 approximately For my friend and I. The large platter had pitta bread and fries for 2 which took up a third of the platter. The Greek salad was not a Greek salad and we could not see any olive oil dressing there were 4 skewers of poor quality meat, I lamb 1 chicken and two others which were some type of charred meatballs and some sausages which did not smell good split down the middle, the meatballs were charred beyond recognition. The rest of the platter were calamari rings and halloumi. We called out the Chef an Asian chap, apparently there was no Manager. Having eaten a couple of the skewers some chips etc and explained to him our dissatisfaction with the food, every response from him was obnoxious and arrogant. He simply wasn’t interested other than to say the two owners were Greek whatever that was supposed to mean. He never asked would we like to have something else he just smirked and fobbed us I told him in no uncertain terms I would not give the food to my dog and as he walked away I advised him not to give same food to his own dog. Service was spot on but , you guys really really need to ditch the souvlaki it's terrible and do proper YIROS , the meat you currently use is very tough and really not pleasant unfortunately, taste is ok better than kebab but still not real yiros, please bring back the yiros , it's super popular in the southern states I just don't understand why noone cooks real gyros . People will work it out you just need to show Townsville how it's done and souvlaki is NOT how it's done sorry , won't be back till you bring back the yiros and a good one too please not an overpriced wrap ,be sure to add lots of meat and make a real yiros like say for example : 'Yannis' on Hindley st Adelaide. Try their yiros and if you can duplicate that you'll be rich and need more branches around Townsville within a year . Yiros proves kebab and souvlaki is low class peasant food 🤣 yes and lamb is more expensive so what ,people want good quality and they will pay , down south a yiros is $16 to $18 and lamb is not cheaper there it's about the same as here so load it up and watch the customers line up out the door and down the street,...

We were overcharged by a staff member (we wanted to order off the lunch menu but he charged for a full dinner platter ) when we asked for this to be rectified they advised no! ( the boss would not let him ) we will never go there again,the boss then contacted us and advised we were WRONG (as he reviewed cctv )as we ordered the wrong meal however he ommited to acknowledge we immediately questioned the problem once we were charged (as we wanted to order off the lunch menu) which we got nothing but blank looks ,then we addressed it again and again only to be told ........."sorry we cant help you " .....be careful when you order from these guys as you cant change your order once they have charged...
