First time in Townsville. Found this place for a beef, brisket and meatball pho.
There are 2 options, small or big (extra $4). So I ordered a small one, which I assume is regular size. However, the portion is too small. Only 4 piece of thick cut beef (over cooked). Two thin slice of brisket and four mouth full of noodles (all soggy). I am a small size girl, I normally cannot even finish one bowl of pho.
So I asked to get extra noodles. The extra noodles is $2 on the menu. but double the size of normal portion. I really have no understanding of how you serve.
But the soup base is really nice. However, the portion is definitely not worth for $15.50. I have been to so many Vietnamese places. Their presentation is disappointing.
Added: when I was paying the extra noodles at the count. They told me is $5!!! But the menu said is $2. Then the chef said bcs I didn’t order it together. Well the reason I didn’t order together, bcs ur portion is way too small compare with normal pho size. Only 4 mouth full of noodles! That was it! Then the chef was arguing me saying I have to pay the $5. But the menu doesn’t show any $5 for extra noodles. Only $2. Anyway. I refused to pay it. So at the end I paid $2.
But never go to that place again. As a Vietnamese restaurant, you cannot even do a good pho. Very very disappointing. I wish I could...
Read moreVery good location. The restaurant is very clean and tidy. The service was hit and miss. They had two waitresses. One was very good (short one with piecing on her chest) but the other not so good at all.
The menu was well designed, compact and informative.
The food was good. We had spring rolls, fried chicken, salt and pepper squid and shaken need. Spring rolls were ordinary but the sauce was very good. The fried chicken was ok. The calamari was very good but the sauce was terrible (lemon/pepper sauce). The shaken beef was nice. The highlight of the night was the softness of the beef. Unfortunately they provided the same sauce with the main. They really need a new sauce.
Overall it was a nice night. I am keen to return and try their pho. The biggest issue was the...
Read moreI came here on Sunday around 11 a.m., and at that time they only had a small menu of bánh mì, bún, and cơm. I ordered the bò nướng sả cơm (grilled lemongrass beef rice bowl) and a traditional cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee), and oh my god! it was exactly what I was craving!
The rice bowl came with warm, fluffy rice, fresh crunchy veggies, and beef that could’ve been a little more tender, but the fish sauce on the side made up for everything. It was the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and sour, absolutely delicious!
And don’t make the same mistake I did by ordering a small iced coffee, get the large! It’s that good. Sure, you might be wired for the rest of the day, but honestly, it’s worth it.
Don’t sleep on this place. It might be tiny, but it...
