Used the app to place and order, which was accepted. Arrived at the drive through (restaurant closed as after 11pm) and waited 18 minutes just to get to order box. I provided the order number generated on the app and told by operator that some products were not able to be provided and was offered alternatives, which i accepted. I then requested a complimentary coffee for our driver for the extended queue times and was met with a barrage of excuses as to the wait times and unable to meet a reasonable acknowledgement of McDonald's underperformance via a simple complimentary coffee and was abruptly told to drive through. When I was met at the next window the server told me to accept a refund as they were not happy to be told that some form of compensation was acceptable and this would not be met. They cancelled my order that they were not able to fulfil in the first place, despite charging my card and using rewards point up. I then placed another order to just get some food and they also refused to accept that order even though the app had accepted it, now failing to offer a refund and saying security was on call. That's it, simple and fair, all over a complimentary coffee for our uber drive, and their inability to provide products that were accepted at the time of placing an order. Could have been a better outcome if they did not accept products ordered in the first place, no worries - exactly why I accepted the alternatives offered at the window. Employ a competent level of team members to handle the level of orders coming your way, or, instill a waringing that wait times may be prolonged due to staffing or incompetency levels, Employ team members that are capable to sustain satisfaction, even during strained wait times, order deficiencies and service deficiencies to usual expectations. All in all I was provided a cash refund which was less than my order, no refund of rewards points used to place my order and a threat to have security call and an additional $50 in fees from the driver service due to wait time at the drive through. We took our granddaughter to a school event last night and decided to give McDonald’s another try. Needless to say nothing has changed. Placed our order at the drive through, three times I repeated the order which included three sundaes 1 chocolate and 2 caramel, paid for the order went to the window to collect our food and was given only 2 sundaes, when I told the server I had ordered three she said “well you only paid for two” and you can’t add anything more at the window. I refused the order and went inside to speak with the manager. Who said he would fix me a fresh order with the three sundaes, I paid for the extra sundae, no apology and he didn’t really seem all that interested in my complaint. when I finally got my correct order the burgers and chips were cold and the nuggets were not only cold but dry and old. So, I gave up my prime spot on the comfy double couch to a couple, because, you know, chivalry isn’t dead. But then, my beloved bacon and egg McMuffin made a dramatic leap from my hands and splattered all over the floor. Total tragedy. I was ready to call it a day... until Dylan swooped in like some kind of McHero.
After hearing about my noble sacrifice, he didn’t miss a beat and assured me a fresh McMuffin was on the way. In no time, my McMuffin-less despair turned into pure McJoy. Dylan handled the whole thing like a pro — calm, quick, and laser-focused on making sure I wasn’t left mourning my breakfast too long. Honestly, I thought he was already the manager.
If he’s not wearing that black management shirt next time I’m in, I'm gonna be disappointed. Someone give Dylan a promotion already!
