My friends and I went to the McDonald’s in Chinchilla for breakfast this morning. Upon arrival, we tried to find a table to sit around but soon realising that either the tables or the chairs available to use in indoors or outdoors areas were not clean. My friend went to the counter to ask a staff to come over to clean the table and the staff quickly and carelessly wiped the table without even checking and cleaning the dirty chairs.
We placed the order at 07:59 AM for 3 sets of Bacon and Egg McMuffin meals, including McCafe tea and coffee. After 10 minutes when we all finished our hash browns and muffins, we still had not received our coffee or tea. My friend went to the McCafe counter to make an enquiry about the beverages and witnessed a female staff, who was preparing the tea and coffee, wiping her nose with a gloved hand and continued to prepare cups. My friend was disgusted about the action and asked the staff to replace her gloves before further processing any beverages.
After 15 minutes of the order being placed, we finally received the tea and coffee.
I went to speak with the female duty manager to express our concerns of the cleanness of the restaurant, the wait time and the disgracefully unhygienic practice. The manager expressed her sorrow and continuously apologised for these disappointing performance of the restaurant.
While speaking with the manger, one female staff, standing next to the manager and preparing coffee, rudely interrupted the conversation (without being asked or permission from her manager) to try to defend and claim that the staff, who wiped her nose with the gloved hand, did change the gloves in the end. I reiterated to the interrupting staff that it is clearly a lack of understanding why gloves are used at the first place and it’s should not be the customer’s responsibility to witness this unhygienic practice and to correct the staff before the staff eventually changed the gloves.
Before I left, I took a screenshot of the “displayed” name of the duty manager, which theoretically should be “Dalgit”. I went back to double confirm with the female duty manager who I spoke with and interestingly and surprisingly I was told that her name was Maryanne (or ? Marian). 🤔
As the McDonald’s restaurant is an individually franchised restaurant, perhaps McDonald’s would reinforce the high standards of customer service and hygiene practice to ensure the leading reputation in the fast-food chain and maintain the public confidence in this so called...
Read moreA grey nomad travelling around Oz so have experienced a few Macca dinners. Didn't bother to take a pic of the burger as I was expecting the same substandard burger. I wish I had. Both hubby and my burgers were absolutely what they look like on the big billboards to get you in (who would have thought this possible). Mine was a Big Mac and hubbies was a Classic Angus with bacon. Both burgers were amazing. Well done Chinchilla Maccas, management definitely needs a page out of your book for other Macca stores. Will definitely be stopping in again on our...
Read moreUsually don't write reviews but this place genuinely deserves it. I am very particular about my coffees and generally avoid McCafe if possible but on my roadtrip it was a necassary evil however this coffee is one of the best I've ever had. My mates also commented on the quality and speedy delivery of coffee and freshness of burgers/fries. To the barista and the rest of the team working around 11:30am on Sunday 6/05 you were phenomenal and deserve the...
